Jennifer Aniston Urged to Reasses Her Career

Jennifer AnistonJENNIFER Aniston is being urged to take time off and reassess her career after her latest box office flop.

Aniston’s new movie, The Bounty Hunter – which also stars Scottish actor Gerard Butler — has pulled in just $38.4 million domestically in its first 10 days of release.

Her 2009 movie, Love Happens — another romantic comedy with Aaron Eckhart – grossed just $22.9 million in the US.

The former Friends star’s other 2009 offering, Management with Steve Zahn, grossed a pathetic $935,000.

“Aniston just can’t play the good friend anymore. She’s aged out, no matter the yoga and the highlights. She just can’t do America’s sweetheart next door. She needs a big wake-up call,” one film critic who didn’t want to be named told New York Post gossip column Page Six.

“And as for her taste in men, it’s totally off. John Mayer? Gerard Butler? She’s missing a common-sense gene.

“It’s hard for any TV stars to make the transition to movies,” added one movie producer who also asked to be nameless. “Certainly no one else from Friends made it.”

    ‘ere ‘ere! She needs to sack her agents. Too desperate to be in the news and compete with Angelina Jolie. Its not quantity Jen, but quality. A movie a year is okay, even every 2 years, doesn’t have to be a rom-com. You don’t have to say yes to every rom-com script that comes your way.

      I don’t think this article was to attack Jen, I think it was for the opposite, so that she can start doing better movies, because people realize she has the potential to do it, and to be better than Angelina Jolie.

        Sorry their is no way on this earth that Jen could ever be better than Angie ever and never. And no she does not have the potential to act she is a one face actress. OMG just look at her acting she is stiff when she talks when Angie acts she soft and sexy, she is even funny, Angie is an actress.

      No, no one waits for boring Jen, to attack her. she pastes herself everywhere, Angie is shooting in paris and where is Jen in paris, Angie wear a black dress and who wear a black dress Angie wears dresses with bows for her movie and who’s wearing a dress with a bow. Jen is making a fool of herself no one is attacking her, pretty much she is doing this to herself she is boring, self centered, pastes herself to every leading man she has work with, she talks about Angie taking leading men, but what the hell is she doing!

    I agree with suzie, “The Good Girl” was the only picture she’s proven REAL acting talent (like what the critics said of Marilyn Monroe in “Bus Stop”). However, she’s seriously any serious cred she hopes to earn as an actress by doing every half-baked, half-written, half-ass rom-com that gets FedExxed to her front door. Keep up your current spate of films and you’ll keep being an awards presenter, and not a winner (except maybe a Razzie).

    I Love Jennifer’s movies. Some friends and I went to see the Bounty Hunter and loved it. Everyone in the theater was laughing and having a good time. All positive comments. And I’m sure the LAST person Jen wants to copy of Angie. Is everyone who wears a black dress trying to copy Angie. Or a dress with a bow???? She works with her leading men – and does promotional tours with them. I’m sure she doesn’t make the schedule. Andy, how do you know what she does when she isn’t in the public eye??? Mind your own business when you don’t know what you are talking about.

    I agree with Curious. Went to see Bounty Hunter and enjoyed it. The theatre was packed and we all laughed. Loved seeing her in any movie. She is a true “Movie Star” You never get enough of her. Shes beautiful, classy and good and sweet as well as sexy. did you see here in that white sheath in Madrid! Wow! She has the most amazing body especially those legs. Go Jen! I know you’re laughing all the way to the bank because of all of those jealous and hateful people.

    Can this poor girl not be mentioned without dragging “Nut job Jolie” into the conversation?? Jolie gets roles because of her T&A only. Aniston will still be laughing all the way to the bank,she was good in The good girl and Derailed, she has the chops but not the material, so why not work for the cash till another ‘good girl’ comes along. As for her choice in men, is that any of yer business?

    if angelina jolie is such a bad actress then how has she managed to win an oscar plus 2 or 3 golden globes – jennifer has only managed one golden globe and that was when friends was in its last season so please dont compare – she doesnt have the range in acting – maybe some people enjoy her films that is their right but why then have all the recent films flopped – i mean angelina jolie has been working with top actors like johnny depp matt damon etc.

    that starlet needs to seek advice from meg ryan who disappeared in the limelight when people got tired of her romcoms from mid to late 90s. they don’t stay long, dont they… well, unless you’re another marilyn monroe or a debbie reynolds. she’s too old to play roles like that, much alone think that she can ever compete with angie

    oh puh-leaseeee! reassess her career? all this bit*h knows is complain and mention brad in interviews here and there and “voila!” a new film for her as a wall decor – she’s a dumb julia-wannabe. i hope she doesn’t whine about brad and flaunt her body in cabo 20 years from now, that would really be a pity!

    Agree with one of the above comments-Jen DOES have acting ability, in The Good Girl where she came so close to gaining an oscar nom. So whoever says that she can’t act, well, watch The Good Girl. You will be very surprised. Jen should do more of those roles, move on from crappy romcoms.

    hahaha, came close to an oscar nom? sheesh, i tried to watch that film you manis-toons were all drumming up (no matter how painful it was to do so) had to switch the tv off as her seemingly constipated face irritates me so much. and no way it was NEVER gonna earn an oscar nom, not on that year, not in her lifetime – NEVER!!!!

    It’s not that she does bad movies that will sink her career – ALL stars have flops and BH is a bad movie, but already made it’s money back so definitely NOT a flop. However, her dating douchy singer and douchy skanky co-star is what is causing her backlash right now. Don’t forget that Angeloony has MANY bombs as well her idiot goat looking partner. I hope for Jen’s sake that she makes better movies where jerks don’t get the girl and get better taste in men where jerks don’t get her. If she’s smart she will listen and learn someone common sense where men are concerned.

    Jen fans can only talk about THE GOOD GIRL if not Derailed where she was wooden.tHAT’S all you can talk about after the movies she’s done? that’s no good.
    No she shouldn’t be compared to Angelina Jolie– whose won awardsf or her performance in GIA, gotten her Best Supporting Oscar for Girl Interupted when still in her early 20′s. Now, s he’s being noiminated as Best Actress like she did for CHANGELING. Jolie has proven her Box office chops that she can open aN action film with LARA CROFT.
