Rihanna Grew up Wanting to be a Diva!

RihannaPOPSTREL Rihanna says she grew up idolizing the likes of Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.

The Umbrella hitmaker admits she spent all her free time listening to “diva” music and dreamed of having a career like the aforementioned pop stars.

“Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child, Whitney Houston — they were definitely the people who motivated me to do this, who I idolized and looked up to and said, ‘I want to be like them, I want to do that one day, I want to back videos, make music and have CDs’,” said the star.

“That started the dream and it just went from there, and became a reality.

“Yes I have met some of them and it’s really, really strange. I still look at Mariah Carey and I’m a fan, I remember Vision of Love when I was repeating every night every move in that video.”

Rihanna, 22, recently confirmed reports she’s dating L.A. Dodger star Matt Kemp.

“He’s my boyfriend,” she said during a radio interview earlier this month.

“It’s new and it’s fun. It’s nothing too serious. I don’t want anything that’s going to take up so much of my energy and time right now in a bad way.

“I just want to have fun, and that’s what it’s about.”
