Adam Lambert Tipped to Replace Simon Cowell on American Idol!

Adam LambertADAM Lambert is in talks to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol, according to a new report.

American tabloid the National Enquirer says Lambert — who lost out to winner Kris Allen on last year’s season of Idol – wowed producers when he returned to the show to mentor their star wannabes during Elvis Week and bosses believe he’s the perfect replacement for Cowell, who’s leaving at the end of the TV talent show’s current season.

“Producers were totally bowled over by Adam’s on-target critiques and pithy comments,” blabbed one loose-lipped Idol insider.

“They believe he’ll bring a fearless, youthful freshness to the show. And let’s not forget, Glambert’s got real stage presence.”

Lambert — who caused controversy when he simulated sex and kissed one of his backup singers during last year’s American Music Awards — recently insisted he’ll be playing it safe during his upcoming nationwide Glam Nation tour.

“I don’t want that to become some sort of schtick,” Lambert told E! News. “If I keep doing it, everyone is going to expect it all the time.

“I don’t work like that. I like the element of surprise.”

    to be able to see Adam every week is what we glamberts have all been waiting for! However, as long as Adam keeps his singing the top priority I’m all for it.

    He is an Amazing Artist who cannot sit still, he will enjoy touring the world and sing! That is what he enjoys and fullfill his wishes. But He will be Guest Mentor when needed as last week.

    Well, if this is even a teensy bit true, it would certainly give him a steady income for a few of the crummy months of the year, leaving him to tour and record the better months of the year. However, you know how gossip is… Don’t believe anything til it’s in writing!

    I doubt Adam will become judge so this is just more hype. Adam really didnt sell as much as people expected so this is just more gossip. If you look at Susan Boyle, she sold millions in 3 days. Look at Lady GAGA who also sold millions in days. These are mega stars and lambert didnt sell like these stars. The record industry wants million of sales not just crumms. I dont believe the world wants to see Adam lambert as a judge for anyone. The whole AI Show is failing in viewers as in dancing with the stars ratings. Give it up!

    Although I would love to see Adam every week, I think this is a waste of his talent. Beside, I feel once Simon leaves the show will lose a lot of viewers and probably bomb (its already not doing so well this year).

    @Kerry-You need to read up before you post. Get your facts straight. Lady Gaga’s debut album “Fame” was released in 2008 and her debut single “Just Dance” did not become no.1 until 2009. It took 1 year, not a few months! You are just one jealous person. Adam rules!!

    And how many albums has Ellen sold? She’s not a singing/recording artist, just someone who loves music. She appears to be doing a good job! Your argument has no merit. It is obvious that the AI producers saw something in Adam during his mentor night that gave them a’hmmmmmm’ moment! Do you honestly think Adam approached producers with the idea?

    Stop using every bit of news as an excuse to put Adam down. It is possible that it is a rumour. If not,don’t you think it’s Adam’s decision. It is his career afterall!

    I would love to see Adam become the new judge. I would also love to see him perform everyday on tv. I would want this for him if it helps his career. It would certainly give him more visability. I’m so excited about his tour this summer, but am very disppointed that he is not coming back to Michigan, Windsor, or even Chicago. I think If he booked a concert at ‘The Fox’ in Detroit it would sell out in minutes, or ‘The Soaring Eagle Casino’ in Mt Clements.

    NO! Bad idea. X Factor starts in 2011. AI will be canceled. Even if they are on for 1 more season and Adam joins, he will be blamed for the show being canceled even though we know it’s already gone. His haters will not see it that way. AI is a sinking ship. Plus, Adam hasn’t even fully launched his career. He needs a major tour and more time before he retires his life to TV.

    For those who say Ellen does her show and AI, Ellen is in the same city. Music Artists are traveling every day for appearances and concerts. AI would hinder Adam. He would be exhausted.

    Ellen is an Idol judge this year. What’s her claim to expertise in the ‘music business’??

    FYI,Adam has been performing since he was ten. He’s been in the ‘industry’ for over 17 years. He’s earned his hours! Do your homework!!

    I doubt the report is true. If there is some truth to this,however I hope Adam concentrates on his ‘music’ career,he would have no problem judging young people on their strengths and performance abilities. He was an excellent mentor,afterall!

    I hope that he doesn’t replace Simon, he may be musically talented I will certainly give him that, but that is where it ends, he is a freakish jerk and Ellen is clueless with her comments on the talent. They need to search hard for Simons replacement after all he has been the true hit of the show where judges are concerned!

    So agree what a stupid idea this is, AI will lose a lot of views. Me for one, can’t stand to watch him so won’t be watching if this is true. AI’s ready to tank anyway, came in second would just finish the job.

    omg, got desperate are Amercan Idol producers. I think Adam was one of the best contestants ever along with Kelly Clarkson but this is just a ploy go get ratings up. If I was Adam I would pass this gig. He is an entertainer not a person who should sit and rate this contestants. DON’T DO IT ADAM.

    I hope he does take Simon’s place.He is a great singer and I think he should have won last season.But anyhow,I think he would be fair and will know how to advise the new contestants.Keeping my fingers crossed for you Adam!
