JESSICA Alba says her priorities have “shifted” since becoming a mom.

The actress — who welcomed daughter Honor Marie in June 2008 — has admitted she no longer feels compelled to put herself on the big screen as much as before the birth of her baby.

“Having my daughter has certainly shifted my priorities,” says Alba, currently promoting new movie
The Killer Inside Me. “It’s all about giving her the best life possible, and that means finding that right balance between being home and working when I can, rather than being so career driven.”

And Jessica says she now finds her sex symbol status even harder to understand now she’s a busy family girl.

“It’s just a bizarre perspective that I have nothing to do with,” she adds. “I hang out with my friends and family and live a normal life — all the other stuff is very odd to me.”

Alba recently admitted her previous film choices have been motivated by money.

“When I took the time off I decided that if I’m going to do this for a living it has to be good filmmakers, good characters and doing stuff that I’m not always comfortable with,” she said last month.

“I want to do stuff I’m afraid of doing, because I felt like my choices previously were motivated by commerce. I was doing what I could to create a base with an audience, in each territory, that would help me stay relevant.”
