Miley Cyrus — Tank Girl?

Miley CyrusMILEY Cyrus is hoping to shed her teen bopper image — she’s gunning to play Tank Girl.

The Hannah Montana star, 17, has already launched her new musical image with Can’t Be Tamed and is now in talks to update her movie reputation with the cult comic hero.

“This would be a new big-budget take on Tank Girl,” reveals a movie insider. “Miley wants to establish herself in movies and Tank Girl could be the perfect franchise for her.”

Miley has previously spoken of her desire to be taken seriously.

“I’m really looking forward to turning 18,” she said last month. “I have bought my own house and I’m very excited about moving there. I’m quite independent anyway because I have to travel a lot.

“I have four siblings so my mum and dad can’t always come along. But I think people are going to take me more seriously this way.

“I have achieved a lot — more than some grown-ups in my position have. And I don’t have the feeling that people are taking me seriously, simply because I’m so young. I hope that’s going to change.”

    You can say that again who cares! If they wanted to remake Tank Girl they should have done that with Angelina Jolie years ago. They might as well look at some unknown actress around the right age to get a chance at fame. Miley already in the spotlight and don’t need more attention but sure acts like the world revolved around her only. She is very spoiled not mature and already don’t like her boyfriend being around any woman which just proved she is not mature as she claimed but very immature.

    The original Tank Girl was played by Lori Petty. I didn’t ever really watch the movie and the couple of times I started to give it a chance, I didn’t like it. I would like to see this remake of it with Miley in the lead role. I think it should be interesting and what with the special effects of present day film making, just about any actor or actress can play any role. So Miley should be a good Tank Girl because she is very cute and she has a good loud voice and her body is looking really great too. She has great legs and I would hope the film makers take full advantage of that fact and make sure that they are on display throughout the movie. I am looking forward to watching Miley in Tank Girl.

    This is all PR bull. MGM own the movie rights to Tank Girl and all business is frozen with them as they are billions in debt. Why the hell would they want to do a sequel to a movie that bombed, when they couldn’t even bankroll the new Bond movie?
    Miley’s PR people must’ve seen Tank Girl as the appropriate character to tag on to, but were too lazy to do any research into if it could actually happen.
    She would be the most inappropriate choice – Like a Disney character in a hardcore punk band.

        Oh you’ve got to be kidding. Tank Girl is not “cute”. She’s one of the first tough feminist comic book icons. Sure, an actress that is “cute” but can also act well would be able to portray Tank Girl well, but as Miley Cyrus cannot in fact act, she would kill the character. She couldn’t kill a kangaroo.

    Tank Girl is everything Miley Cyrus is NOT! I saw the Tank Girl with Lori Petty in it, it was okay, and that’s stretching it. At least she fit her role. Cyrus looks nothing like Tank Girl in the first place! Oh, and don’t even get me started on her acting. I gave her a chance, and in my opinion, she blew it.

    An has any of her people even looked into what kind of character Tank Girl is?! Come on people, we are not talking about Strawberry Freaking Shortcake here! It’s like trying to make pirates kid-friendly!

    I don’t really think she would fit the role, unless she chooses to take on the original Tank Girl image, then fine. I mean Vanessa Hudgens is already taking on a role in the all girl action flick, Sucker Punch. I mean, in all of my own opinions, I just don’t think she could do this role. She can find other roles to take her seriously. Me being a long time Tank Girl fan, I just don’t see it.
    Honestly, she can move up doing something more in her range of acting and possibly, personality wise. Plus, I think she would ruin the box offices with this, because she’d attract young girls with her name and young girls should not see Tank Girl, I did because what can I say, I have an eye for originality.
    Again, my own honest opinion. Miley Cyrus, should not be Tank Girl.
