Michael Caine: ‘I Consider Myself Retired’

Michael CaineMICHAEL Caine considers himself “retired” — but admits he’s having trouble winding up his 50-year career.

The Hollywood veteran, 77, says he should be enjoying his twilight years at home but just can’t quite manage to call time on acting.

“I consider myself retired — unless I get a script that I absolutely can’t refuse,” says Sir Michael. “In the end it will be the movie business retires me because you don’t retire from the movie business.

“It’s like Sean Connery — the movie business retired him, because he didn’t want to play small parts about old men and they weren’t offering him any young parts in romantic leads. So he was gone!”

    I love how Michael Caine always knows what Sean Connery is thinking … I’d rather get it from Sean himself… I think Sean looks great … after all hes 80. I wouldn’t care if he was in a dress… I’d still like to see him act. You don’t get much better than him. Let Tom Crews retire… that would be OK.
