KATHERINE HEIGL DESPERATE TO GIVE ADOPTED DAUGHTER A SIBLING — SOURCES SAY!

Posted by Adam

Katherine HeiglKATHERINE Heigl wants another child.

The 27 Dresses star and her musician husband Josh Kelley adopted 17-month-old Naleigh last year and is keen to give her daughter a little brother or sister.

“Katherine is a changed woman since becoming a mom,” said a source close to the actress.

“She says she’d love to have another child as soon as possible.

“She’d love to have a biological child, but is more more than happy to adopt again.”

Heigl, 31, recently revealed how she has become more in tune with her emotions since becoming a mom — as all she wants to do is protect her daughter.

“Watching any film or television that deals with a mother and child story is so gut-wrenching in a way I could have never predicted,” she said last month.

“You have this empathy suddenly, this compassion for a mother going through anything difficult or complicated with a child because suddenly I understand that unbelievable drive and instinct to protect. Protect, make them happy, shelter them, give them everything they need in life to be happy. That was a weird feeling. I was like, ‘That’s a lot of pressure.’ ”

Katherine said last year that she always wanted to adopt a child.

“We started talking about adoption even before we were engaged because it’s really important to me, it’s been a big part of my life and my family — my sister is Korean and my parents adopted her back in the 70s and so I just always knew that this is something I wanted to do,” she said.

“I made that really clear because not everybody is down with that. Not everybody thinks that.”

Ummm- she never had a baby, she bought a baby. Shame on her and other “stars” who buy children, when there are plenty of foster kids here in the states who NEED homes. These people disgust me. I am adopted, and it sucks.

    • http://yahoo.com kaya

Actually it is harder to adopt in America than verses international adopting. Everyone is easily to make comments of stars adopting children, your ignorant to say buy. Do you know the process it takes or the procedures? I bet not, your willing to put shame on people who want to give a child a loving home and family. Any child that comes from the U.S or other countries come from misfortunate backgrounds but unlike the U.S has a better system and resources to attend to children in foster care. I am adopted and I came from a third world country, where their was no food or water. Remember next time you open your mouth get the facts. In the United States it is that much harder for children to get adopted because how the foster care system is set up. Maybe blame your government for that, instead of stars or parents like mine, who wanted to adopt. Your ignorant!

My son is adopted and he thinks it’s great. He met his birth mom last week on his 16th birthday and it was beautiful. He knows she did what was best for him. She was 15 when he was born. I wish your situation could have been as wonderful as ours. And we did not BUY him. The process is brutal but worth it.

    • John

You are an ignorant ass. It is amazing how many rude uneducated people exist. Why don’t you BUY yourself a clue.

If a child is adopted overseas it is not buying a child. What is wrong with you. Yes when you adopt a child there are certain fees that you pay if you bothered to look up your facts. If you don’t like the fact that she adopted a kid from Korea then don’t articles about that. I have four adopted kids all from different countries. Basically your saying that anyone who adopts form different countries bought their kids. Did you ever think that some people are open to raising kids of other nationalities? Or that because maybe they feel that an American child has been through so much such as abuse (sexually, physically, verbally) that many people are not up to handle that type of child. BTW my sons are from India and Vietnam my daughters are from Liberia and Mexico. Guess what I am happily considering one from either the Philippines or Poland

    • http://N/A Marcus Norville

By the way Linny how many American children have you adopted. If you have not adopted any don’t chastise people who choose to go to another country!

  • CLAUDIA

MARCUS I THINK IT IS A VERY NICE THING YOU HAVE DONE TO BETTER THIS WORLD I AM CONSIDERING ADOPTING AS WELL AS SOON AS I GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE I HAVE A LITTLE ONE OF MINE OWN ALREADY SO I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE HER A BROTHER OR SISTER ANY ADVISE ??

    • http://N/A Marcus Norville

My main advice to anyone considering adoption is to adopt from a place that you feel comfortable and happy with. I would recommend the website http://www.RainbowKids.com an Adoption Advocacy Website. This website has the inside scoop on adoption. It even outline the programs for different countries

      • http://N/A Marcus Norville

I would also contact your local adoption agencies to see what programs they have. They will help you choose the program that fits you the best. Hope this helps

  • http://www.domaintools.com/historic-thumbnails/?domain=sexyamateurvids.com michael

it is so sad all these people go to other countries to adopt a child and all the childern here are just like trash and thrown away shame on all of you i was adopted and i am so glad i was adopted by a family from the usa and not from another country

    • http://N/A Marcus Norville

      michael

I understand where you are coming from but adoption is a personal decision. Some people do not mind raising an african, asian, or south american child. Just as I have adopted from four different countries I still feel for kids left in the system. The problem is that they have been through so much such as abuse as I mentioned earlier and being shuffled around from one foster home to the next they never fully trust anybody. They are scared of what is going to happen. Some people are not equipped to handle that type of child. I hope this helps.

  • Mel

Who cares about this woman? I agree Michael it is a shame!!! It is not even being shifted from home to home but the American system makes it so hard and expensive to adopt that people sometimes have no choice but to go to other countries. But people like Katherine H have the money to adopt from the here and they still decide to go else where. I give kudos to Sandra Bullock for adopting an American baby. She is a REAL WOMAN!

    • http://N/A Marcus Norville

So basically your saying she is better for adopting an American kid, and those of us who adopted children from different countries are horrible for adopting children from different nationalities. What difference does it make? People who choose to adopt have to decide where they want to adopt. Like Ms. Jolie who adopted kids from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia. Who knows what type of life those children would have had. As I recall her Ethiopian daughter fell ill and almost died.
BTW IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT AN AMERICAN CHILD THEN GO AHEAD BUT DON’T PUT OTHER PEOPLE DOWN BECAUSE THEY CHOSE INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION FOR THEIR FAMILIES!

      • Mel

BTW WHO SAID THAT? I DO NOT CARE IF PEOPLE JUMP OFF A BRIDGE! All that I was saying is that American children need homes too! I honestly think alot of these stars adopt children from other countries so they get kudos! Anyone regular person like you or me who adopts from any place is doing a good thing. BTW if you read my blog I also wrote I know why people go to other countries because it is very difficult here and costly! Three of the doctors I see had to go to China and Russia to adopt because of the waiting list and cost to adopt here. So FLIP ON SOMEONE ELSE I HAVE A RIGHT TO MY OPNION JUST LIKE YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO YOURS DO YELL AT ME!

  • Mel

please do not mind my dopey sentence :)

  • Shannon

Its true that there are children in this country that need homes and go through horrible situations in the process of finding a forever family but anyone, anywhere who is willing to give a child a loving, caring, nurturing environment to grow up in is a blessing, no matter where they are. Adoption is always a beautiful gift when its undertaken by people with their hearts in the right place.

  • Cynda

    Linny:

Just because you were adopted and it didn’t work out best for you, it has for many many others. I myself was adopted and would of had a terrible life had I lived with my biological mother who slept around and drank her life away. Instead I got two wonderful parents here in the USA who couldn’t have treated me any better had I been their own. I myself have one bilogical child and would love to adopt another but because of my age, I feel I am far too old. Don’t knock people who are trying to help others less fortunate than they are and have lots of love to give!!! You somehow got a raw deal and thats very sad for you! And as far as USA kids not being able to get adopted easily, I’ll never understand that one with the foster care or adoption system how it is so difficult. Wouldn’t it be so much better to give that child away instead of murdering the child like so many sick people do! Anybody out there contemplating that, I’ll take your child and give him or her an awesome home.

  • Nina

To the ones so stuck on nationality, get a grip. Boundaries between countries are fake lines created by man. I am open to loving ANY child that needs help.

  • sfitalia

Linny, so sad that you are that judgmental. Kaya’s response is perfect, well witten and very true. Open your eyes and have some compassion. I am sorry you are in a sucky place, but you can change your way of thinking and your situation. It is a gift to be alive, enjoy!

  • yossi

“Sources say!” you don’t say! did you go to the school of cliche, or what?

  • stop making excuses

EVERYONE including but not limited to THE ORPHANS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA deserve a loving home. REGARDLESS, of how hard it is to adopt them. Don’t take it out on the orphans in the U.S. They didn’t ask to be left alone, lost or forgotten about and they don’t deserve it (not that any child deserves that American or otherwise). You want to adopt Internationally great go for it… but don’t make some lame excuse for why you decided to disown your countries orphans. and yes I am aware of everyone’s right to an opinion and such. So consider this my opinion.

  • linny

I AM adopted, you dolts. International adoption is human trafficking. There are plenty of children available here in the US trough foster care. Sorry, but NO adoptive parents can say their child is adopted and is “just fine”. Wait until he grows up. Read some transracial adoptee blogs. They hate it even MORE than domestic adoptees.

  • Jeremy

Nothing against adoption from other countries, and no it does not mean you people are horrible, but I would rather adopt an American baby. Some are saying American kids have been abused, raped and all the other bullshit, but the point is you are parents, and protectors. If an American kid is too much to handle, then what if God forbid your own adopted foriegn baby was raped you would not want to deal with it? Either you project unconditional love, or get lost. And Katherine is ugly, and has a pitiful personality. She reminds me of some kind of horse with that mouth of hers. She is not admirable whatsoever.

  • Sam

I hope that baby grows up, and steals Katherines husband Josh away just like Mia Farrows adopted Korean baby grew up, or should I say was still a baby when she took Woody Allen hahahaha! If its one things Americans are good at is being naive, and stupid. Koreans, Asians are the biggest sneaky people on earth. I work with so many Asian ladies married to American men who alway’s talk about having sex with with other men behind there husbands back. Sad world we live in, but the gremlins at work are entertaining.

  • Al

Since Katherine is a Mormon, will she be raising the children Mormon?

  • Lou

Katherine Heigl’s sister was adopted. Clearly, she never impressed upon Katherine what a horrible experience it is, since she is the reason Katherine chose to adopt.

  • http://showbizspy joeie

look people stop and think if Americans looked after Americans and loved all these Hungry baby right here in the USA maybe we could get back to the loving country we wants were….when was the last time one of you work a soup kitchen or went to a hospital and read a book to a small child? We should all look at the Streets of the USA and see how many child are homeless and hungry—-shame on us all for leaving them out there

  • http://N/A Marcus Norville

Ill leave it at this; a child is a child. It should not matter where a child comes from. All children are blessings. As i mentioned earlier adoption is a personal decision. Just like Angelina Jolie chose to open her home and heart to three third world children who obviously would not have access to medical care and education now they have the best life possible. I often wonder about my own children I wonder if they would still be alive my son Jeevan (India) and my daughter Amina (Liberia)were both so sick when they came home.
Many of the kids here are not actual orphans many of their parents have not signed away or have taken away parental rights. So it is harder to adopt here.

This is for stop making excuses says:

What is so lame about adopting a child from the country where Heigl sister was born and adopted from?

I let you in on a secret my wife and I planned to adopt children from all over the world. Unfortunately she passed away before we even began the process. So I am honoring her wishes. Its not that I don’t care about the orphans here in America I just felt that my children were in different parts of the world. I did not want to risk a birth parent showing up and deciding that they wanted to raise their child because that can happen after the finalization of an adoption.
That is not so lame is it?

    • linny

Yes, that is lame. YOUR children are “not all over the world”. Unless of course, you have impregnated women all over the world.

An adopted person has 4 REAL parents. If they did not, 2 would not exist. If a child’s natural parents decide on parenting, that should be it. Period.
