Jennifer Love HewittJENNIFER Love Hewitt is out of a job.

The actress’ hit US TV show, Ghost Whisperer, has been canceled after five seasons as part of a sweep by bosses at CBS.

However, Jennifer might not be unemployed for long — rumors are already swirling Ghost Whisperer could get picked up by another network with ABC reported to be interested.

Meanwhile, Jennifer recently revealed that she’ll only date a guy if his underwear is free of skid-marks.

“Guys should be clean and their underwear free of skid-marks,” she said earlier this month. “If they are not then run as fast as you can in the other direction and never date him again.

“Guys should also be funny, have a great smile, be trustworthy and have a good relationship with his mom.”

That star has also admitted she has been cheated on “a lot” in her life.

“It’s brutal,” she said. “Once I found out on television and that was awesome. And then another time I found them together … and that was, woooo!”

    Ihave watched everyone of the Ghost Whisper stories,and which ever station picks the series up will be the station that I and a lot of my friends will watch.CBS will loose an awful lot of viewers.Like they say, that time slot is a hard one to compete with, and this show held their own.I do believe CBS is making an awful mistake. I wish they would re think this deciscion.

      Great post! I think she is great and hope she has come to Christ! She seems so genuinely nice and kind hearted, I would hate to think of her not being in Heaven if, God forbid, anything happened. We have seen a lot lately just taking cold medicine killing the stars! It can happen so quickly!!!
      p.s. My hubby heard an interview w/ the maker of the show- James Van Praugh (sp?) in which he said Jennifer wanted to leave the show, they were running out of good story lines.

    I believe that CBS is making a BIG mistake by cancelling such a great show. My family and I watch it and greatly enjoy the stories. I know that whichever network picks up this show will be my choice so that I can continue watching this great show. Jennifer and her cast members work so well together which led to such a big hit show. I sincerely hope CBS reconsiders cancelling this “hit” show. If not, I believe the CBS viewing audience will decline since the “powers that be” keep cancelling all the great shows. Maybe these “powers that be” should cancell themselves out!

    Last year when NBC wanted to get rid of MEDIUM CBS snatched it up. They said they wanted it to run behind GHOST WHISPERER it would been great for FRIDAY NIGHT.

    Now CBS is doing this to their top raking show on FRIDAY NIGHT. I sure hope ABC will pick it up. Just don’t put it
    in a slot near CASTLE. That is my FAV. show on ABC.

    i saw one or two episodes and the show seemed to show real promise in my book. this news is total surprise. hope they bring it back on another channel or something- its too much junk being promoted and projected on TV to cut such creativity. And one of the few shows that isnt sex, love or crime driven- rare these days

    I am disappointed that CBS is cancelling the show, but glad to hear that ABC is trying to pick the show up. It is very interesting and keeps my attention. And it is good that the Cast gets along so well. I missed Camryn in her previous show but glad to see she is back on the air also.

    I think the CW should pick it up. There could then be a Crossover between Ghost Whisperer and Supernatural. Sam and Dean come to town and end up helping Melinda dispatch the “Shadows.” :)

    It would be an interesting contract; her “gentle touch” and the boys “kick a**” approach. :)

    In any event, one of the stations WILL pick it up. They’d be stupid NOT to.

    Shame on CBS! I hope another network picks up Ghost Whisperer too! I have been a fan since its started. TV needs a show like this. I love its Spirituality and Psychic content. Jennifer does a fantastic job in her role. The rest of the cast is great too! I implore you to reconsider CBS, you are letting a lot of people down!

    If you are sad, I will let you check my underwears. They are clean and do not have skidmarks. I believe one should use enough paper (toilet) to ensure the last wipe is clean enough to dust the Mona Lisa.     CBS is making a HUGE Mistake cancelling this show. There are so many people that look forward to Ghost Whisper and to see who she is going to help next. This is the first show in a long-time that you cry on almost every show knowing how much she cares about the dead and how she helps their spirit go into the light. There is never a dry eye at the end of each episode. I sure hope that another network picks this show up since this will be a major loss.

    I absolutely LOVE Ghost Whisperer! It is one of the reasons I don’t work at night. It is such an uplifting show. It really makes you stop and think about hopefully there is an afterlife for us all.
    I watch it on 3 channels in my area each night.

    What is up with the people who decide to cancel a show, don’t they check to see how popular they are before they make such a mistake? I LOVE the show, even reruns and will definitely watch the network that gets it.     What is wrong with some of these networks? First the ridiculousness at NBC, then this insanity at CBS. Are they just trying to lose everything to the cable channels? GHOST WHISPERER IS A GREAT PROGRAM! Why cut one of your best programs? I am hoping that ABC picks up this excellent program.     I understand that lots of shows have been canceled ,but the problem is that the consumers that watch these programs are not given any say so, the owners of the net works rearrange time slots, cancel shows,and those of us who enjoy looking at shows like Ghost Whisper get disappointed. I am tired of all the Realty TV, but I guess that’s what CBS probably thinks,that’s what all viewers want. Friday night I had to have the kids fed and the kitchen cleaned so I could sit and watch “GW” without interruption. NBC I hope that you will pick up the show I don’t think the return on your investment will be wasted. Another TV Watcher!

    I think what has happened to the show is, the writers are trying to change it up too much (Hollywood), the first season I was hooked, great stories, until the main actors start getting axed too soon, and then it becomes a little less interesting, maybe if it had been in a different time slot, I may have still tuned in to watch, The show is a great concept from James Praagh with the help of mary ann winkowski (The Real Ghost whisperer), as a matter of fact, I wish there was a show with Mary Ann in it, that would be far more interesting seeing the real deal, I’d love to see her and James do a Ghost Investigation show just like Ghost Hunters, I think it would be a hit !
    Jennifer is a great actress, she really made the show, and she’s very beautiful, If she has an opportunity at another network doing this show, I hope they at least let praagh and winkowski have more room for input to keep the show real.

    Oh, please ABC pick up “The Ghost Whisper”. I love the show and stay home every Friday night to watch it. I am scratching my head at CBS decision to ax this sentimental well acted favorite show to millions of Christians like myself. I often sob at the tear jerking endings of each episode. All this being said, I think if ABC picks up the show that the writing can be improved upon. I think bringing in The main characters off spring was handled poorly. They aged her son 5 years which aged the show. I think that Melinda should travel outside of her surroundings. Maybe take a trip, travel somewhere. The characters seem to be stuck in the same box week after week. Last season was not the best the best but I still watched. I kept hoping they would take the stories out of the same formulated story. There is so much more they could do with this kind of genre. With a 5 year old show you need to keep it fresh and I think this past season the writers were not doing good writing. I am crossing my fingers hoping ABC steps in and pick up “The Ghost Whisper”. It would be a nice fit after my other favorite new show “V”.

    Aging the kid 5 yrs in 1 season didn’t do much for the story line & I can honestly say men only watched the show cuzz JLH is a gorgeous woman. In the last few years her choice of dress was toned considerably which didn’t offer men any reason to be a faithful viewer of the show.

I for 1, would “Never, Ever, Ever, Ever cheat on a lady like “Jennifer Love”.. I was raised to respect women… not to use them and cheat on them.. However.. you know that jennifer lover hewitt will bounce back and find herself a man…. And that will probably last about 6 months to 1 year… before you hear about them breaking up.. and splitting up for 1 reason or another..     Wait a minute folks. This may be a good thing. This will free Jennifer up for a new series. I like GW but I am a little bored with it. I would rather see her in a new weekly hour long show that is sexier. Jennifer needs to start playing a more sexy role. She is an incredibly attractive person and I think that for the next phase in her life/career she should become involved in an adult comedy type show with much screen time paid to Jennifer and showcasing how sexy and funny she is. She is in great shape right now and I believe the executives at the network recognized this and felt it was time to turn up the sizzle on Jennifer’s next show. However, I do sympathize with my fellow fans of GW and understand completely how unhappy you feel at the cancellation of the show. One of my favorite shows Mercy is being canceled as well and I am very disappointed about that.

    Ghost Whisper is one of my favorite shows. I believe in ghosts. And I do know our loved ones watch over us. Instead of canceling your show, stations should be canceling all these stupid comedy shows.

    if jennifer would put up with me she would be getting a good one. live with my mom in the basement. Only on parole for 7 more years. i registered at all the proper authorities. i only need to lose another 280 lbs and then i will hit my target weight of 240. I am pretty tall at 5′ 5″ so it evens out. just replaced my uppers and they fit pretty good. my combover is working pretty good too. plus i shower every other saturday night. i think she would get a good deal dating me and mom.

    I rarely watch the junk on TV and I think this is one of the few TV shows out there that are worth the time to watch. It’s very very disappointing to have heard that that has happened to her show, but good luck with the ABC network ! By the way I would like to comment on the person who called her the S word – Grow up and wash your dirty laundry – meaning the skid marks. She is very real and I think she is an awesome actress.     I just read about the cancellation of GW. How can they decide to do this? Talk about a stupid decision. This is a series that is just intriguing. CBS is making such a huge mistake. Too many times decisions are made and this decision sucks. Hopefully, ABC does pick up this series. Friday nights will never be the same. This series is my relaxation hour.

I love it and hope that it does go to another network as someone else will recognize it is very well written and the latest ones were very edge of your seat scarey. Gee perhaps Snooky and her lovelies could be removed forever as their complete tasteless antics and such can be gone forever. I know I would not miss most of the sutpid reality shows that are aired on most networks today. If that means progress I am out of here.

    Well, the only thing we can do is boycott CBS. They did the same thing with Without a Trace last year. Cold Case and Ghost Whisperer are excellent shows. A friend of mine works for ABC and it is true, they are interested and already own some of the rights to GW.
    Now all we can do is wait and see…….

    I, too have watched GW from the beginning. It is a
    Friday night treat. My husband and I watch it together and shed a few tears together for the deceased and their loved ones and then finally crossing over when all is resolved. I can’t imagine why CBS would want to cancel such a heartwarming show. I don’t remember which networks but in the past Joan of Arcadia, The District, Touched by an Angel, Without A Trace, Boston Legal, to name a few, fan favorites have been cancelled for what reason? Ratings? Doesn’t seem to make much sense to me. We are at their mercy (the networks) and the viewing public doesn’t have much say in any of it. I hope that ABC picks up GW. We will watch it faithfully as we have up to now.

ABC you are being handed 2 gifts on a golden platter-take it or as others have stated, one the cable channels will see the advantages.     My Mom and I are avid watchers of this show. We absolutely love where they have taken us thus far and would be deeply disappointed (saddened) to see this AWESOME show not get picked up. This is by far the best film production Jennifer Love Hewitt has EVER done (in my humble opinion), and I (we) would love to watch her continue to flourish not only as an actress, but also as a producer. David Conrad is also amazing, along with Delia and Ned (I miss Andrea though). Great find with David Conrad, I (we) hope to see more of him on TV or film :) Also, please, please, please bring back Jay Mohr :) He was perfect!!! This show has the potential to outlast some of the greats, please give it a chance! And also, please don’t kill David Conrad again…In fact, him and Jennifer Love Hewitt should really explore a relationship outside of their professional roles ;) They have beautiful chemistry!!! Jay Mohr helped make the show, his absence only hurts it :(

    I am very disappointed that GH is being cancelled. It is the only intelligent show on TV. I miss other shows and even important appointments just to watch it. Please, some other network, pick it up. JLH and the rest of the cast deserve Emmys just for the work they each did on that show. I even watch it in re-runs. If its not picked up by another network, I hope its syndicated and like Andy Griffith and The Golden Girls, will be able to be seen forever. Whoever decided to cancel it should not have his job himself. Jennifer if a true talent, as are all the rest of the cast. She’s like me, a true Texan.

    CBS made a big mistake cancelling Ghost Whisperer. The Friday night line up of GW followed by Medium was fun and entertaining. KUDOS to the network that resurrects the life of this show. The person that made the decision to ‘clean house’ is oblivious to what the public wants and probably never watched the show. And that is so sad.

    It was a huge mistake to cancel Ghost Whisperer. I’ve heard that The Outlaw might be cancelled now, and of course, Lonestar was cancelled after only two airings. I am sick of hearing that the more intelligently written and performed programs are being cancelled by network execs. They obviously are seriously lacking in intelligence and those of us that love these shows are turning more to sports and tuning out their networks. Way to go Ace….morons.
