JANET JACKSON STEERS CLEAR OF WATCHING TELEVISION FOLLOWING DEATH OF HER BROTHER MICHAEL

JANET Jackson stayed away from televisions following the death of her brother Michael Jackson last June.

The 44-year-old singer and actress confesses she had a tough time when shooting her latest movie Why Did I Get Married Too? because of Michael’s death of an Propofol overdose last year, but channeled her energy into the film and stayed in touch with her family to check up on details.

“It was very tough at times. It was very, very difficult,” she said. “I just tried to do my best. It was very therapeutic and very draining in other ways. You know, it never left my mind what was going on.

“I stayed away from watching any television whatsoever, but I stayed in touch with my family on a daily basis. It was difficult at times but it helped me to heal. The tears in the film, those were real tears.”

Janet’s ex-boyfriend Jermaine Dupri recently claimed the All For You singer no longer wanted to make music as her albums do not sell as well as they used to.

“Last time I heard she really didn’t want to do an album,” he said. “She wanted to just do singles every once in a while.

“She’s looked at the marketplace -albums are not really doing what they usually do when you put all this budget out there. Janet is just trying to figure out her landscape.”

Just hang in there Janet, things will get better. I know what you are feeling. I too lost a sibling and it was hard to endure. I often found myself saying I’ll ask Sister (a pet name for her) when she gets her and finally it would hit me; I can’t because she’s not coming. It has been almost 24 years since she passed away and she was my best friend; but I found comfort in all the laughs we had together and the crying and hurt somewhat went away. She’s still vivid and I still miss her dearly, but I always think of her comical demeanor and hurt of her being gone lessens and give a big smile; knowing I have her in all of my surroundings.

Words can not express the pain and loss that you and your family must feel, for as you said “to you he was an icon, to us he’s family.” I am not so sure that is true, for we all loved him and miss him terribly. The hole in my heart has not healed either. Stay away from the Media as much as possible. Don’t trust any of them except Ebony Magazine, Jet and Essence (they will print the truth). Do not give up your music (Michael would not want that). Go out and give them “HELL”, after all you are the sister of the “Greatest Entertainer of the World.”
