ALICIA Keys only uses her fame for good.

The singer says she spoke to U2 frontman Bono about how she can use her celebrity status in a positive way.

“It’s a currency — you must use it well or lose it,” she said. “Bono told me that, and I totally agree. Now I’ve achieved a certain level of fame I know I must make good use of it, especially as I’ve been around the world and know susuffering in a way I didn’t before.

“That’s why I launched my charity, Keep A Child Alive. I was so moved to meet people in Africa who have so little and yet are so generous, people who’ve been to hell and back but retain their dignity and are fighting for their dreams. The charity gives people the chance to chase those dreams.”

Speaking to Britain’s Live magazine, Keys also revealed that she once burned down her dressing room.

“My biggest fear is fire but I love candles and incense,” she said. “One day on tour we had left the dressing room and when we came back, one of the candles had set light to a piece of make-up paper and it just lit up the room. Needless to say, I let out a pretty big scream.”

Recent reports claimed Keys — who’s engaged to rapper Swizz Beatz – is pregnant with her first child.
