BRITTANY Murphy‘s husband Simon Monjack was buried in Los Angeles Thursday.

The British screenwriter — who died this past Sunday — was laid to rest next to his late wife in front of 75 friends and family members at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The private orthodox Jewish service, presided over by Rabbi David Baron, took place in the Chapel of the Hills, the same memorial chapel where Murphy was eulogized in December after her death.

“It was Simon’s wish to be laid to rest next to her,” says family spokesman Roger Neal, who described the memorial as “celebratory and healing.”

A photograph of Simon and Brittany together was placed next to his casket, and a recording of the Clueless actress singing Smile, with Simon accompanying her on the piano, was played at the end of the service.

It is widely believed Simon suffered a heart attack, after it emerged he had a history of problems with his vital organ and had put off having surgery until after he had held a charity fundraiser in Brittany’s honour later this year.

Meanwhile, a recording of the call made by Sharon to emergency services has been released.

The tense conversation hears Simon’s panicked mother-in-law’s desperate bid to revive the screenwriter.

During the call, she screams, “My son-in-law. He stopped breathing.

“Why are you taking so long? What do I do?”
