Macy Gray Quit Drugs For ‘Vanity’

MACY Gray kicked her drug habit to the curb because it was starting to affect her appearance.
The I Try hitmaker says illegal substances made her look “really bad”.
“It’s vanity, really,” Gray told Britain’s Sunday Telegraph newspaper of why she quit drugs. “At a certain age drugs make you look really bad.
“When you’re 20 you can party all night and look good; you wake up, throw on some sunglasses, you look great.
“Once you get into your 30s it takes a long time to shake it off. I was like, ‘I can’t do this anymore, it’s starting to show!’”
Macy — who is a single mother to kids Aanisah, 15, Mel, 14 and Happy, 12 — also opened up about turning 40.
“I got over it real quick,” she said. “I like saying I’m 40 better than I liked saying I was 39, which is like you’re on a ledge of something.”
Back in 2008, Gray cut her gig short at the Cannes Film Festival because she was too wasted to continue with the performance.
