WHITNEY Houston is letting herself go — big time!

Sources say the troubled songstress — who has a history of drug abuse — has been gaining weight like there’s no tomorrow.

According to American tabloid The Globe, Whitney has ballooned to 175 pounds while on her Nothing But Love tour in Europe.

The picture to the left shows Whitney performing in Germany on May 27.

Whitney’s weight gain is allegedly due to steroid injections or prednisone treatments for her respiratory infection.

“She’s pigging out constantly on room service and fast food and is showing no sign of slowing down,” disclosed one insider.

I don’t hear all the ranting about Mick,Ozzy,Robert Jr, Rush, Courtney, River, Matt P, Charlie, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rolling Stones…etc. Some of these names when you apply the drugs became iconic, it was expected, and they are revered because of it. Other names like Rush just lie about it and the media as well as certain majority just look the other way or cut them slack. What I am saying is that human is human, people go through issues and self medicate. Seemingly a black human is not given the same courtesy of being just human.

If Whitney is on prednisone it definitely will add weight gain. That is one of the side effects. I know two very thin women from church who had to take it and ballooned up with even bloating in the face. But they had to take it even with the side effects. It can add what looks like water weight also. But both women needed the medicine in order to survive heart problems and female problems. It was so sad because some people who had not seen them for years would imagine they were over eaters and not believe it was the medication they were using. People, don’t judge because it could be you or someone you love. Whitney, do what is right for U and stay well.

I have always love Whitney. Then I missed her when she was on drugs. When she came out with her new CD in 2009 I was happy and proud. However, I must admit her voice is not the same. Just maybe she was not ready to sing again. Sometimes people are misguided and pushed to do things before they are ready. At this time, I pray that all will be well with her career. Her weight gain is a concern; yet, instead of showing off her weight gain in clothing that appears too tight; maybe she should wear outfits that compliment her new figure.
