CAREY Mulligan had to play the “man parts” when she was at school.

The British actress attended an-all girl boarding school and was always the top choice to take on the male roles in drama club productions.

“I went to an all-girls school and I was always slightly jealous of the girls who got to play the pretty ingénue parts and I had to be the boy,” says Carey. “We didn’t kiss or anything.

“It is just that is how it is at all-girl boarding schools. There has always got to be someone who takes on the man parts. And it was always me.”

Carey recently revealed that she has had her eye on Shia LaBeouf – whom she hooked up with while the pair filmed new movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps — for six whole years.

“I wanted to work with him since I saw A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints, like five or six years ago,” she said.

“I thought he was so incredible in that and I thought his work in the big blockbuster films ground those films. He is amazing and incredible to work with.”
