RYAN Seacrest was left red-faced during a recent night out with pals — after trying to eat mouthful of pungent potpourri room freshener!

The American Idol host thought he was chomping on assorted nuts and gagged violently when he realized what he had in his mouth.

Seacrest spat the smelly mix of dried flowers and bark into a napkin as he made a dash for the nearest bathroom.

“I thought it was a bowl of nuts and almonds,” Seacrest told a pal, acccording to American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“But it was potpourri — and it was horrible.”

Recent reports claimed Seacrest is romancing Dancing With the Stars beauty Julianne Hough.
