KRISTEN Stewart headbutted Taylor Lautner while filming a scene for Twilight: Eclipse – but it was an accident!

The script called for Lautner to grab Stewart from behind as she ran up a stairway, then quickly pull her toward him.

But just as the buffed up 18-year-old turned Kristen around, she accidentally slipped -– and her head banged down hard on his nose.

Instantly, blood gushed from Taylor’s nose as the director — fearing it was broken — called a halt to filming, according to American tabloid the National Enquirer.

Ice packs were ordered immediately, and the on-set medic quickly checked for damage. Taylor’s nose wasn’t broken; just badly bruised.

Taylor recently revealed he found it “painful” having to carry Kristen round the set of Eclipse.

“There’s a scene where I’m carrying Kristen, and it’s also, like four pages of dialogue,” he said.

“We actually had plans, a rig that was basically going to carry her, and I was just going to pretend that I was carrying her. We got there on the day, and the rig didn’t look very natural. They were like, ‘What are we going to do?’ and I’m like, ‘I’ll just carry her. She’s like, what, 110 lbs? It’s no big deal!’

“We filmed that scene all day long, did the wide shot, did my close-up, did her close-up, the back shot, everything. It was so hard. … It was painful.”
