JENNIFER ANISTON AND COURTENEY COX HATCH PLAN TO TAKE FRIENDS TO THE BIG SCREEN — REPORT

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney CoxBEST pals Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have hatched a cunning plan to make a Friends movie — according to a new report.

Sources say the former costars are desperate to emulate the box office success of the Sex and the City movies, so are working on a script to bring the smash hit TV sitcom — which wrapped in 2004 — to the big screen.

“After years of saying no, Jen Courteney decided the time is right for a Friends reunion,” a source close to the BFFs told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“Courteney and Jen both watched with envy as the Sex and the City cast parlayed their cable TV show into a massive movie success.

“So Jen is campaigning to make a Friends movie finally happen and when Jen sets her mind to something, she follows through.

“And Courteney is so incredibly competitive — she’d love to outdo Sex and the City.”

Jen and Courteney have already to spoken to their other former Friends costars — Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc — and they’ve given the duo their blessing.

“Everyone feels the time is right,” said the insider. “And with Jen in the charge, a Friends movie would have blockbuster written all over it.”

Cox recently revealed that she and Aniston have an idea to get the cast of Friends back in front of a camera.

“We’ve got a good idea. There is a good way to get us all together,” she said earlier this month.

“Jennifer told me, or someone told her, or she came up with the idea herself. I don’t think it will ever happen, but it would be a great way to get us all together!”

    A Friends movie would be good, loved the show. Only thing is I would like to see the whole cast in the movie, not just Jen and Courtney; otherwise, it won’t be the same no matter who directs it.

    i used to love friends when it was still running but only because of chandler and phoebe, the rest aren’t half as good and natural in comedy especially jen as rachel. ppl were just fascinated by the rachel look those days but acting wise it was lisa kudrow who used to steal scenes for the ladies and matthew for the guys. i’m not watching friends if these two aren’t there

    I hope they do it! I loved that show and so did my husband, it was like the only tv show we liked watching together. Jen always made it so hilarious. I will keep my eyes open for this movie!
