KELIS PAID HER PRODUCERS WITH FOOD!

KELIS is quite the culinary queen!
The Milkshake hitmaker says she didn’t have any money or record label when she recorded her new album Flesh Tone so paid her producers with food.
“I just graduated from culinary school and I’m cooking a lot and I’m pregnant,” she said.
Kelis said she told potential producers, “‘You can eat. I have a studio at my house.’ That’s how my album got done.”
The star recently insisted “everything’s fine” between her and ex-husband Nas, with whom she raises 11-month-old son Knight.
“Everything’s fine. We are divorced, but there is no point to fighting — there is nothing to fight about,” she said. “I am super happy; my life is awesome. We are friends, we get along now and it’s all good.
“After the split, everyone was like, ‘You are going through a rough time, you should write something personal.’ I wear my feelings on my sleeve.
“The hardest decisions are the best ones and for me that was really the case. I am definitely better today than I was a year ago. And I’ll be better next year.”
