ANGIE HARMON PLANNING TO DITCH HOLLYWOOD AND HEAD SOUTH

Posted by Adam

Angie HarmonANGIE Harmon has been flirting with the idea of quitting showbiz!

The actress — who raises three daughters with husband Jason Sehorn — says she considered leaving Hollywood to go “somewhere South”.

“We just had another baby and I’ve got three little girls now,” said the Dallas-born star.

“So my husband and I were going to move out of Los Angeles and go somewhere in the South, where I can raise some strong Southern women with morals, ethics and values.”

But Harmon has had to put her relocation plans on hold — after landing a role in new TV series Rizzoli & Isles, which is based on the novels of best-selling author Tess Gerritsen.

“I can save retirement for another day,” said the 37-year-old, who plays the character of Jane Rizzoli — the only female detective in Boston’s homicide division.

“But once we finish shooting this first season, sometime in August, we’re definitely going to move, for the kids.”

    • tyson.j

angie was a model and on law and order. she is gorgeous and has a killer body. check out the awesome naked pics they have of her posted at http://urloo.com/QHi0

  • waltr

she had better make the money while she can.37 with three kids?you can bet there are hundreds of twenty somethings chomping at the bit for her roles.

  • tvshogal

Paging walter, obviously an ageist and sexist fool. Angie has more money than God, Jason does very well.. and if producers wanted to hire 20 something idiots for Angie’s roles, they would — but they don’t. Nuff said.

Major kudos to Angie for wanting to raise her 3 daughters with morals ethics and values and making the commitment to do so. If only more parents did the same.. there’s no need for both parents to work, people get by with so little and do very well in life. Money cannot by morals, values, ethics, or happiness.

“somewhere in the South, where I can raise some strong Southern women with morals, ethics and values.”

ROFL! Are you kidding me? Morals in the south? Just because they CLAIM to be god fearing people in the south, does not make it so. The south is a cesspool of racist, inbred scum. NOT a place to raise your kids.

      LA sucks too though.

      • tedmac

Fact is, she’s right about the manners. I live in LA and when traveling to the South, I am blown away by the politeness and consideration shown.

      • Duude

LA is a cesspool of scum-sucking racists and morally bankrupted fascists.

      • JaeB

I had the same thought about the South, especially now when they’re the home of Teabaggers and Palindrones. I’m wondering what “family values” she’ll teach first: racism or Republicanism. Six of one…

      • CG

I too felt that way about the South, but, being a God-fearing Yankee, I too am blown away by the politeness and hospitality of Southerners. It isn’t as Rednecky and racist as I thought. However, I think that was because I was passing through and saw that I wasn’t going to impregnate one of their daughters or something. (I am not white).

But I think it depends on where one goes. Austin, TX is definitely on the progressive side of the South. More edumacated people there…

    • Lisa

That’s not completely true. The bible belt is the “south” and most of us have morals and yes, we fear God. Try it, and maybe you’ll understand. :)

      • Jamie

Paron me Lisa, but that is BS. Although I grew up in the Midwest, most of my family is in the south and I know better. If fearing God means hating black people than I agree with you. Granted my southern family has adjusted to changing times but I would not say they truly rep[resent what represents Christian values. Hate is not a Christian value. Period!

  • kathy

what did sasha ever do to angie for angie to decide to quit before their show even premiers?

  • Frank

one of the BEST conservatives in Hollywood (an actual COUPLE OF Republicans) love her

    • Steve G

I must say, a little arrogant. Using the term “retirement” at the age of 37 sorta rubs her success in the faces of those laid off for years now.

Then she insults Southern Californians suggesting she needs to take her kids off to some safe-haven so they can grow up right. Sounds like a Palin woman to me.

She lives there in Los Angeles making lots of money in the entertainment idustry, then declares it to be a poor place to raise kids. She can probably afford to school them in the best area schools, too. I suggest you can teach kids manners no matter where you live.

      • Pam K

I agree with you. I saw her on the View this am and was really disappointed about the remark she made about her kids becoming hookers if she stayed and raised them here. I, at 65, was born and raised here, and also have three grown children born and raised here and all of us are just fine. I have to say my 2 boys have never been in a bit of trouble and my daughter the same. I think it’s how you raise them not where. I really like Angie, always have, but was very shocked to hear her make a statement like that. There is bad no matter where you go Angie, people here are just more open with it, don’t sweep it under the rug so much. My grandparents are from the south and growing up listening to all the stories from their past, I’m glad I wasn’t raised there.

      • Jamie

        Pam K.

Makes a wise observation. Its the who not the where.

Angie, get over yourself. Maybe you need to hangout with non-Hollywood people. Yes, even in HW there are non-HW people.

      • Jay

First off I totally agree with Angie. I am a black man from Chicago, who lives in Las Vegas and if I had kids I would not raise them on the freakin’ West Coast if someone gave me a million dollars! Living in Vegas, I learned that people do not speak to one another out here. Although Vegas is a transit town, most folks come from California; but from what I understand its mainly folks from Southern California that brought this rudeness not only to Vegas, but most of the West Coast. I have talked to quite a few people from the Midwest and I would say 98% percent of them would agree that folks are just rude on the West Coast!

Good for Angie for considering to move her kids south. The morals are better. As a black man, I was treated better in the South than in the West Coast. Go figure. And as far as Angie considering to retire at age 37, good for her. There is nothing wrong with that. She has a right to her opinions, move the heck on!

  • PRMediaworks Ent. Group

    Bye.

  • Big City Girl

Way to go Angie…she can move to Bush country. Lots of morals and ethics there! Good luck.

  • Big City Girl

    You’ll need it!!!!!

SWEET HOME ALABAMA WHERE THE SKY’S ARE SO BLUE!!!

  • SeeYa

What the heck does she know about morals, ethics and values? She’s a Republican! Don’t let the door hit you on the butt on your way out.

  • Susan

She also played in the series “Womens murder club” a book written by James Patterson. She was great in that show and she will be great in whatever she does.Law & Order was one of her shows also.

    I’d rim It!!!

I like Angie Harmon A LOT. I think she is beautiful and smart. I also think that voice is so seductive.

And I like it that she wants to raise her daughters in a good way. Unfortunately, bad society is everywhere — just moving to Dallas won’t fix the problems. You gotta really be involved in your kids lives in a big way or you will lose them.

  • Linda

So Angie thinks that the South has more morals and ethics?? I used to LIVE in the South. That place has more STRIP CLUBS, PAWN SHOPS and PORN SHOPS than any other place I know. We used to go to PetCo in Cobb County, and right in the middle of the parking lot was a place called “Boomers Adult Entertainment”. This is smack dab right in the middle of the “Bible Belt”.

And Marietta Georgia, where this lowlife place of business is located, also houses the biggest Baptist church there is this side of the Mississippi. Angie, you need to investigate just exactly where your daughters are going to receive their “morals and ethics”. Cause you need to do more homework.

    • Jamie

Is this my cousin Linda? lol

Cobb (i.e. Snob County..okay East Snob County) county? Marietta?
If not, thank you for speaking the truth.

  • eddie

moral come from your parents!!!!!! not from a location, what an idi*t…so i guess her husband and her dont have any…she needs to go find them in the SOUTH…home of the KKK and slavery..Dumb a$$!!!!!!!!!!

  • SuperUbit

Asta pasta. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out to redneck/racist country. She belongs there.

  • Zenda

She sounds really dumb. The part of the country you live in has nothing to do with your morals, ethics or values. The south, right? Ha Ha

  • eddie mac

    who gives a shit!!!!!!!!!!!

  • eddie

    @superUbit..great comment..right on target!!!she wants to go be a Belle…WTF!!!!!!

  • eddie

she is a racist!!! plain and simple….south claim of of your own!!!!

  • irene

On The View today – still talking about her engagement and wedding and she has been married for probably 10 years – come on, get over it!

    • Jeremy

You are an idiot! I live in San Diego and it’s the best place to live in the country.

  • JJ

CA is full of defective people. She is smart to get away from there.

  • vinnie

Way to go Angie!!! We need more Taylor Swift’s and less Paris Hiltons.

  • http://yourtranceformations.com Clarity

    Whatever! I know nothing!

  • tedmac

What??You want her to stay here and raise a brood of Kardashians, those vulgar, over-indulged, ill-mannered boorish know-it-alls? Yiassa Angeliki!

  • Linda

Vinnie’s right Angie!! After all, Taylor Swift grew up in a place that condones stripping, selling stolen goods in pawn shops and horny old men that frequent porn shops. How else are you going to grow up on the “straight and narrow”??

  • Brandy

Let her live her life and hold to her own values, standrads and opinions. If she feels that it best, then so be it.

    I wish her well.

  • Brandy

Was typing fast. Sorry for the misspellings.

  • Angie

This chick is still alive? Who gives a shit

  • aptty12

Another actress claiming to quit Hollywood. No one will miss her. SHe made enough money and her husband is retired football player.

  • Steve-O

LOL, you guys dumping on the south act like LA is paradise.

    It’s not.

Both regions have their ups & downs. LA is a wonderful place to be fabulously wealthy, like Harmon. The LA apologists posting here are probably not wealthy. They just buy into the redstate/bluestate nonsense because they’re desperate to identify with the Hollywood crowd. This also explains why they seem so personally wounded when someone chooses to reject “their” lifestyle.

Honestly, SoCal’s not a great place to raise children. The public schools are terrible. There’s very little sense of shared civic virtue. While Harmon & Sehorn are quite wealthy, cost of living will be a factor for their children when they come of age.

I also find it funny when Californians imply that their state is somehow more post-racial than the rest of the country. Oscar Grant, anyone? Slavery was over a hundred years ago. 60 years ago California was sending all of its ethnically Japanese citizens to concentration camps.

There has been an exodus of black folks back to the south:

    http://www.brookings.edu/reports/2004/05demographics_frey.aspx

Not that it matters, but I’m from the Bay Area. I’m hardly an apologist for Dixie. Have never even set foot in the south, unless you count NoVA on a trip to DC. I can see why someone would prefer to raise children outside of this state. Best of luck to her.

    • Linda

      Sorry about that Steve-O.

It’s just that stars like Angie, who posed nude several times for this or that, has a hell of a nerve getting all high and mighty over the very career she built out of the use of her looks and body, via voyeurism. Yes, voyeurism. All of you, saying she’s got a “killer body” and “check out her nude pictures” tells me that the woman’s OWN values and ethics I question. I question anyone who goes around like they are holier-than-thou about a lot of stuff. It’s those people who tout their morals and ethics that are in fact the ones you need to worry about!

      • Linda

Just wanted to add. People like Angie Harmon going on about “morals, values and ethics” that made their money in Hollywood, and now because she is turning 37 and at a standstill in her “career” (you’d have to have a very loose definition of the word “actress” to describe her and her raspy irritating voice) are the ones that are biting the hand that FED THEM.

  • eddie

steve-o, im not defending LA, im saying morals come from within your family not a geografical location…the south..please…it is still racially divided and racism still exist…she is just a dumb a$$…all places got good and bad…thats all

  • Linda

It’s her, Sarah Palin (who got her start being a contestant on some beauty contest), Ted Nugent, and other right-wing hypocrits that I just can’t stand. Period.

  • http://ShowbizSpy PollyPoodle

Angie Harmon may get her wish to retire very soon. Her new TV series has her looking the same as she did in Law and Order. A new hair style would have done wonders. I don’t see the series taking off.

  • http://viet_vet73@yahoo.com Bob M

What a great way to start a new show–let your stupidity and ignorance come through quickly. If I were the producer, other actors connected with this show–I would really be upset. Mrs. Sehorn, you would be wise to stick with acting (not that outstanding by the way-and keep my politics and opinions to myself. I can understand how you would want to be in the good old part of this country that brought us those wonderful people with the morals of Mark Sanford, David Vitter, and that good old standby Newt. They give you another shot after, you blew the “Women’s Murder Club”–Patterson’s books still sell prety well; you get a good lead in from the “Closer”, and you blow it before it even premires–GREAT JOB! As an earlier comment pointed out, don’t let the door hit you on the way out of your career.

    • Buddy

You are clearly a LIB…someone expresses their freedom of speech and because it does not follow along your wacky beliefs, you want someone punished for sharing their opinions…and sense you want to point out a very small number of republicans with issues, lets turn our attention to Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Edwards, Gary Hart, Ted Kennedy, Robert KKK Byrd, David Patterson, William Jefferson. This doesnt even include all the democrat tax evaders and just to make it fair, I will list a few Republicans who were at one time under investigation…but take note…there were THIRTEEN demoncraps and nly four republicans…
: Rep. Sanford Bishop, D-Ga., Sen. Roland Burris, D-Ill., Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., Rep. Jesse Jackson, D-Ill., Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-Calif., Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., Rep. Gary Miller, R-Calif., Rep. Allan Mollohan, D-W.Va., Rep. Timothy Murphy, R-Pa., Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., Rep. Laura Richardson, D-Calif., Rep. Linda Sanchez, D-Calif., Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Ind., Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska.

Well, there is always a career in the Tea Party after your “acting” is over, Angie.

    • Jeremy

You can’t spell worth sh*t! She’s not hot and most likely you are NOT as well.

    • Buddy

Thank you for justifying exactly why she would want to leave

Helpful article, thanks. I’ve switched over to bartering recently for most of anything I can get without having to shell out cash. There are a couple sites out thereto use, to connect with people who are looking to barter trade/swap items or even services (carpentry work for auto work, etc). One of the sites I use is Baarter – http://baarter.com

They also have a free stuff section.

  • Jon Sorensen

Good for Angie! She comes from a great state, and realizes the traditional values that you find in the south. The fact that she’s currently living in a state that is virtually bankrupt, because of it’s liberal spending and strict anti-business regulation, doesn’t help matters any. Go south girl, where people treat each other with respect, and the true value of patriotism is proudly displayed. You and your family are true Americans!

    • Sherron Teal

YEAH GO SOUTH ANGIE where their is low wages, bigotry and ignorance Galore! Where the church goers sweet talk you and stab you in the back. Where the words narrow minded are alive and well You will fit right in there!!

  • msw

it is proven that children are products of their environment, good bad or indifferent..if parents show them love, give them a decent home and keep track of whats going on in their lives, it doesnt matter where you live..there is was and always will be peer pressure for kids to follow..its a matter of knowing right from wrong and having parents who have instilled that in you whether you live in the bronx or in dallas, or in los angeles..

    • Sherron Teal

Hank you have it exactly right. The South is still in the 50 ‘s . They are extremely narrow minded judgmental people.. The Southern who said can’t believe you wrote that most likely has never been to California!

  • Jon

    Hank says:

    LA sucks too though.

Hank, Are you serious. I can’t believe you wrote that. You obviously have not spent quality time in the south. We are not perfect, but a damn sight better than that part of the country. Why don’t you compare violence in the south to the west coast and then apologize.

  • Buddy

For all you wingnuts who refer to people in the south as racist, you are full of it…I was born and raised in Chicago, then lived in Detroit for six years, followed by Trenton New Jersey for two years. I have lived in Allen Texas, Peach Tree City Georgia, and currently in Bossier City, LA. I travel nationwide with my job as well, and I can assure you, the racism in the north is worse than in the south. Fact is, I have experienced very little racism in the south, whereas in the north, I was constantly belittled for various reasons. If I can avoid it, I will NEVER leave the south. By the way, I am an Hispanic male

    • Silvana moore

That is SO UNTRUE, I WAS RAISED IN THE WEST AND HAVE LIVED IN THE SOUTH FIVE YEARS, I HAVE NEVER HEARD SO MUCH
BIGOTRY AS I HAVE HEARD HERE. THE IGNORANCE IS APPALING!!

  • http://www.soychicano.com juan

this genius pretty much called L.A a moral trash heap and that the inbred south was a better place to raise children with a good moral compass! The sickest part is this obama hating republican can’t seem to keep her clothes on when she comes out on a magazine yet shes lecturing others on morality-typical airhead conservative anglo woman!

    • TAH

How could you say all those mean words about angie. she is not trash like you say she is. thats Miley Cyrus, not Angie. Angie is a good role modle and I have not seen her nude in one picture. You’re just jelouse. I don’t mean to sound rude, but keep your mean opinon to yourself. Please and thankyou.

      Tia and Hallie

    • Tia and Hallie

Please don’t talk trash about Angie. Me and my friend like Angie and we do not think she is trash. She is a great person and a good role modle. She may have been nasty in a movie, but that was just a role. Please leave your nast comments to yourself. :) Tia and Hallie!!

      • Sherron Teal

You act as though you know her personally. You know nothing about this woman, except what you see on television.

    • Sherron Teal

She is so intelligent she thinks Sara Palin is a GENIUS!!

  • Elizabeth

Who ever thought that an educated person could be so narrow minded? Ms. Harmon states that she needs to move her girls out of L.A. because she feels that it’s not a good enough place to raise her girls. Well, as Angie Harmon stated on The View, “By the time they (her girls) are eight they are going to be strippers”. Just want to weigh in on that and let her know that not ALL girls grow up to be strippers when they are raised in L.A. You demoralize a city because of your own insecurities and inability to raise strong women in a city that is so full of diversities. I am an educator and I take offense in your words. I have seen many young ladies grow up to be successful, well adjusted, beautiful loving people. I think the next time you speak; you might want to THINK before because you have a lot to learn. I wish you luck in Dallas. I hope you expand your vision for your family

  • TAH

We cna’t lose Angie. Me and my friend alreay lost Mariska Hargitay! Now Angie?!?! When will the madness end!!!!!!!!!!!

  • TAH

We’re crying! We as in me and my Bff.

  • Sherron Teal

I was born in The South and raised in California. My husband and I retired in Norh Carolina. I take umbrage with her morals, ethics, etc. Statement. I have met more unethical back stabbers here (so called church people) than I ever encountered in California. The difference is Californians and New Yorkers say it like it is, Southrners sweet talk to your face while stabbing you in the back!!!
