EDWARD NORTON “SAD” THAT HE’S NOT STARRING IN AVENGERS MOVIE

Edward NortonACTOR Edward Norton says he’s “sad” he won’t get the chance to play The Hulk in the new Avengers movie.

Studio Marvel recently released a statement announcing they’re seeking a new actor to play Dr Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk in Joss Whedon‘s highly-anticipated summer 2012 blockbuster, as Norton would not be reprising his role from 2008 action movie The Hulk.

“Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members,” Marvel said.

Ed took to his Facebook page Monday to thank fans for their support.

“It seems it won’t work for me to continue playing Bruce Banner for Marvel in The Avengers,” he said. “I sincerely hoped it could happen and be great for everyone, but it hasn’t turned out as we all hoped. I know this is disappointing to many people and that makes me sad.

“But I am sincerely grateful to Marvel for extending the offer and even more so for giving me the chance to be a part of the Hulk’s long and excellent history.

“And I really can’t thank fans enough for how much enthusiasm you’ve sent my way about what [director] Louis [Leterrier] and I tried to do in our turn with the legend. It means a lot to me.

“I grew up with Banner and Hulk and have been a fan of every incarnation. I’m really proud and very blessed to have been one of them and will be thrilled to see him live on through other actors. Hulk is bigger than all of us, that’s why we love him, right?”

Back in 2008, Norton was forced to deny rumors he didn’t get along with Hulk director Louis Deterrier.

Edward Norton is a very good actor and I enjoyed his performance as “The Hulk.” He collaborated in the writing process in the last Hulk movie, and that should indicate to the Marvel moguls that Norton is creative and capable of working/sharing with other artists. Marvel’s comments about Norton were insulting and condescending. I have a feeling the “Avengers” will be a big flop.

The ONLY reason I even watched the Hulk was because Norton starred in it! Bad move, and HORRIBLE, evil comments on behalf of Marvel. I will avoid Marvel at all cost.

Hollywood intrigues are made all the more interesting because so many of the players are insane.
As for me, I just want to have Ed Norton’s baby.

Class – The guy deserves better from Marvel and the rest of these film makers. In fact, as potential “Avengers” audience members, we ALL deserve better.

Not certain what happened here…either Ed Norton was playing hardball with Marvel or Marvel has a personal issue going on. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to realize EN is a great actor and will draw big time for Marvel.
