Adam Lambert: ‘At 12 I Realized I Was Gay’

Adam LambertSINGER Adam Lambert was 12 when he realized he’s gay.

The For Your Entertainment hitmaker says he wasn’t very confident when he was younger and admits it took him a while to accept who he is.

“Growing up I wasn’t very confident. It wasn’t until in my early 20s that I evolved into who I really was and wanted to be,” he said.

“I always used to look at being different as a bad thing, but I’ve learned that you need to take pride in the fact that you are unique.

“I was an ugly duckling, I was overweight and at 12 I realized I was gay. I kept that a secret until I was 18, so dealing with that and not feeling attractive was hard.

“The main validation I got was from being a performer, because it made me feel good about myself.”

    Why are you reporting on OLD news, just to get hits? Why not something relevant and newsworthy such as Adam having a SOLD OUT summer concert tour, and over 1MILLION albums sold worldwide!!

    I agree, let’s just talk about his music and not his sexuality. But this article was a little different in the usual articles that just talk about his kissing boys and raunchy antics on stage. I can live with it. It’s apparent to me he really didn’t want to be different at first, but had to finally embrace it when he realized he couldn’t change it. Too bad, but that’s reality.

    Hey, did you know that Adam has a sold out tour and he is adding more shows due to demand? Um, ya, and also sold over 1 million copies of FYE, his first album! The guy is amazing, the best live act out there! I have been to one show, going to nother and trying for more but the dang shows are selling out in minutes so its difficult! If you havent seen Adam live, go, you will be blown away! This guy is the real deal! His vocals and presence are out of this world! Love ADAM!!!

    For all you who says this is old news, you better do some investigating yourselves. He has always said he DID NOT KNOW UNTIL HIS MOTHER ‘HELPED’ HIM ‘FIGULRE IT OUT’.

    Personally, I do ot think he is and has always been ‘gay’. I have seen no real evidence of it. Heard about his ‘ex’, a little guy when he was in his early 20′s, and that he engaged in gay sex after and only after being totally drunk and drugged out. Since being more ‘sober’ he had a ‘friendship’ with Drake, but no one really knows what that actually encountered – however, he cut it off. Couldn’t be a ‘boyfriend’ and did not know what being a boyfriend meant. Anyway, facts are facts. What he says and how he acts are two different things. Period.

    I love this guy!! I am a 56 year old woman and I followed Adam on American Idol. His talent is amazing and I love his stage presence. I don’t care if he is gay, straight or still on the fence. He is awesome and I would pay to see his show any time . . . This is someone who can entertain the entertainers. I too will be very sad if he is not nominated soon.
