I agree with you about the difference beween professional and personal relationships. When you work with someone professionally, you or they may leave and will never cross paths again. But while you are working together, you have to behave professionally. You may complain that they are not doing their job correctly, either to friends/family or your boss, but you don’t go around bad-mouthing them to complete strangers you’ve just met.

As for Rob and Reese, or even Reese and Christoph Waltz for that matter, have been seen or papped flirting during the whole time of filming WFE except for stills taken from the film itself. And I think the main difference is that Fox know that you don’t need silly gimmicks to market a movie if you have a good story and cast. They know that WFE will bring good BO figures because of the people who have read the book will be looking forward to seeing it adapted to the big screen, and those who haven’t read the book, will probably go because of the big name stars, (RW and CW).

And as for Rob, I’m really hoping that because he’s been working with stars such as RW and CW, he’ll start to realise that he doesn’t need to play the silly PR games that Summit have been doing for the last 2 years, and he’ll start to claim his life back. And then, hopefully, he’ll be able to see the real Rob in future in good roles that show what he’s really capable of.

Why is there never rumors about Kristen with her costars? Emile Hirsch, Jesse Rosenberg, Adam Brody, Taylor Lautner, Jackson Rathbone, Dakota Fanning, the guy in The Yellow H. for example? Why was the attention ALWAYS on Rob and Kristen? Because H wood knew the score with Kristen and Rob was expendable. They protected her.

Summit aren’t letting Shrew lose her teen fan base. The only teen fan base they are interested in are all the Robstens who go to see the film on multiple occasions. Love the avatar by the way! Eclipse is not doing well. Actually for a sequel that is considered the favorite series among fans is doing pretty poorly. NM did better than Eclipse it terms of earning the most cash in the shortest amount of time. It is common for a non sequel to drop off in it’s third and forth week but not a sequel.

So open book will Summit realize that pimping Robsten backfired? I hope so because that is exactly what happened. No one wants to play anymore only the few delusional sheep but they are crazy and who wants fans like that. If this Robsten crap keeps happening I am nbot seeing Bd at all and I know a lot of others who won’t either. And I will unfortunately not see Rob’s films because if he plays along i can’t respect him as a professional. Summit has managed to make a wad of money quickly without doing anything to add to the quality of SM books, story telling or the Vampire genre of films. Instead TW became a business/marketing job instead of the creative departments. Perhaps where Summit went wrong is they allowed the business people steer the ship when the creative department should have.

IMO: Inception was advertised over the course of four months using trailers only. Using limited marketing to sell the films Warner Bros. has relied on the creative department to conceptualize and dictate the course of action. Meaning they invested heavily in production and modestly in marketing.

One more thought. TW books would not appeal to all demographics anyway. So you have to consider that it was an adaptation. Pirates – while the ‘characters’ were known the story was new, as with the Batman movie franchise. You can’t look at the numbers in a a vacuum is what I’m really driving toward.

Hi OB, I agree with what you said about books being made into movies lets the audience feel as if they are participating. I read WFE a couple of weekends ago, and finished it in 8 hours. I was so engrossed in it, that I couldn’t put it down, and am now looking forward to seeing the movie when it’s released.

I think Rob has done well to choose both this and BA because his more mature fans can go see it, even without reading the books first, because they are aimed at the more mature audience. TW is definately aimed at tweens/teens and they latch onto the fantasy of Edward/Bella. He seems to be giving his real fans, not the Robstens, what they want to see. A proper performance by a really good actor. Just my opinion.

Also, the over saturation of media has caused resentment amongst fans which will manifest into a backlash against the franchise. So just wondering how you seem to know soooo much about what Rob wants.Did you personally interveiw him to know that he is waiting for the one? Or did you see him on an interveiw and he expressed this? Just curious….. I think we all want the one…. whether we find it in our life time is another question…..
But more curious how you seem to be so positive about his wants?
