CAMERON Diaz insists she wasn’t nervous when it came to locking lips with costar Tom Cruise in their new movie Knight and Day.

In the flick, the Hollywood superstars play a fugitive couple on the run — 11 years after they starred in Vanilla Sky together.

“I was probably less nervous than when things were blowing up over my head — I trust Tom a lot more than I do explosions… He’s so great, it’s a very smooth ride,” she said.

“We’re serving the characters, it’s literally the same work as driving the car. You’re just trying to do the best you can for the story and the characters.

“He’s a naturally funny guy. He’s got a great sense of humor.

“What he’s particularly wonderful at is soft comedy — it’s not the over-the-top slapstick. The soft comedy is harder to do than the over-the-top comedy.”

Cameron — who has dated a string of Hollywood hunks, including Justin Timberlake, Jared Leto and Matt Dillon — recently admitted she gets “freaked out” by commitment.

“I think the big misconception in our society is that we’re supposed to meet the one when we’re 18 and we’re supposed to get married to them and love them for the rest of our lives. Bulls**t,” she said.

“Who would want to be with the same person for 80 years? Why not break it up a little bit? I think people get freaked out about getting married and spending 20 or 30 years sleeping with the same person but if that’s the case, don’t do it.”
