Angelina JolieANGELINA Jolie really is worth her salt!

The actress was paid a reported $20m for her role in new action movie Salt — and apparently impressed studio bosses by earning every single penny.

“You don’t just get paid to act anymore,” a source told the PopEater website.

“Selling the movie these days is more important than actually making the film and no one sells better than Angelina Jolie.

“You must have been living under a rock not to know Salt opened this weekend and it’s Angie they can thank for that.

“Angie earned every cent of her $20 million salary.

“Even though Angelina’s contract insists she promote the film, no one expected her to sign autographs at the premiere for over 45 minutes, pose for pictures with fans and shake hands before walking the red carpet. Even partner Brad Pitt looked confused watching her spend so much time with all the fans.

“The studio was shocked when Angie agreed to go to Comic-Con [the largest comic book and popular arts convention in the world] as well as when she traveled to Washington, D.C. to host a reception and tour of the International Spy Museum.

“Angie even allowed studio publicists to plant stories about her inviting the real-life Russian sleeper spy, Anna Chapman, to the premiere, to help promote Salt.”

      jilly, yeah, in case you don’t know ebert gave it a 4 star (out of 4) rating. so that’s a great review actually and rotten tomatoes give it 57% compared to bounty hunter’s 8%. thanks for the info mean, i did check it.

    salt earned $36M++ on it’s opening week, 2nd only to inception which is still making a killing. the bounty hunter earned a measly $20,686M and 3rd behind alice in wonderland (2nd week) and diary of a wimpy kid (same opening) plus anistoons can not claim all the glory bec i’m sure gerald butler’s fans contributed more. angie carried the film and got good support from her co-stars. jen will always be the wall flower in those dumb roncoms. so who’s hot and who’s not? angie is hot! wait till you see the worldwide ticket sales :)

    Rotten tomatoes ratings:
    salt – 57% rating – good but with some flaws
    jen’s booty hunter – 8% (beyond medicore)

    roger ebert:
    salt – 4 out of 4 stars rating – perfect!
    jen’s booty hunter – 1 1/2 stars out of 4 stars, again plot is beyond stupidity

    surely you can not be more credible than pulitzer winner, film historian and critic roger ebert. :)

    and so the figure speaks. next time you make a false claim, be sure to back it up……. with cred figures :) the more you post baseless comments, the more you make yourself stupid. aren’t you ashamed? and now that you’re busted i’m guessing your next comments will go back to vial of blood, tattoos, nannies, etc etc. typical rantings of stupid anistoons

    thanks for the info mean. i never thought for a sec that SALT will bomb like you know-who’s dumb films. with inception’s strong showing, salt didn’t fare bad considering that 36M is hard to come by around this season. and yes, i checked the link too – diary of a wimpy kid even fared better than that shitty film. really, it ranked 3rd on it’s opening week. and the critic’s review, hahaha, 8 out of a possible 100%? that old woman need to disappear already. makes me wanna puke that this aging starlet is so stupid to think she can play characters more suitable for younger and more talented stars. Go Angie, kick her out for good!!!!

    as of 7-27-10, salt is now $44,512,651, and it’ll open in thousands of theaters word wide this week. it’s doing good actually

    foreign – 32,800,00

    it is expected to run for 10-15 more weeks and it has yet to open in germany, france, japan(biggest Box office raw in asia), china, Uk, russia, italy, korea, and elsewhere.

    great job angie and director philip noyce! a sequel perhaps?
