KARA DIOGUARDI FACING THE UNEMPLOYMENT LINE AFTER BEING FIRED FROM AMERICAN IDOL!
KARA DioGuardi has been FIRED from American Idol — according to a new report.
TMZ says the TV talent show — which recently lost Ellen DeGeneres and is rumored to be gaining Jennifer Lopez — will be going back to a three-judge format.
Assuming all deals are finalized, the website says, the judge’s panel will consist of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
Back in May, Showbiz Spy reported that Idol judges were bracing themselves for a bloodbath.
“Everything is on the table,” a source said at the time.
“Nothing and no one is safe from change.
“There have been discussions about moving the show to New York, documenting the contestants living and fighting together in one big house and also eliminating the judges altogether.
“The only one who is safe is Ryan Seacrest.”

jennifer lopez is a huge step up from Ellen. i happen to think this will repair the holes that were bringing down the american idol ship. of course steven tyler is no simon, but i think he will be a good addition! also- good riddence to kara. when they brought her on is when they started sinking. ellen just added to the problem.
I don’t think Ellen was cut out for Idol. I’ve been watching for all the seasons. I love Simon, I agree you need to keep this show with some class to it. Howard Stern is a low life and should not even be considered for the show. I’m not sure if I’ll watch it this coming season. It will depend on who they have on the show. I’m not a fan of Aero Smith. I’m just not into hard rock. However, at least you have talent and years on the charts.

Your right….Josh is an extremely classy guy and a gentleman. He would be too much like Ellen in the fact that he wouldn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. He has said in interviews that he doesn’t like to watch the judges rip them to pieces.

I’ll give J.Lo a try next season, and see if she can remain humble like she did before she scored the number one movie, album and single in the same week. But keep in mind, we’ve never seen her judge anything before, so I’m optimistic here.
As for Steven Tyler, I’d much rather have him replace Simon tthan Howard Stern. Heck, I can even take Mick Jagger. If Howard Stern’s mannerisms and behaviour on his own radio talk show are any indication, he’ll take that show down to the level of Jerry Springer, complete with the lewd, obscene comments aabout how the female contestants would be good to have sex with, or other sick things like that. He’ll suck all the class out of it. No way would I watch American Idol with Stern in the pilot’s seat.

I could not have asked for a BETTER judge panel. Jlo for the tweens and “Bieber” fanatics, Tyler for the singer songwrter rockers, and Jackson because he knows how it all works and has been there (and lets not forget he played guitar for Journey:) Better then what they have had since Paula left. I think all around this was a great choice by Nigel Lythgoe-glad he got them to go back to 3 judges not 4. It should be about the contestants not the judges. Funny thing is-my first album was “Toys in the Attic” that came out in the 70’s and I played it over and over-and I never thought of Steven, I did think of Gene Simmons because of his producing and finding other bands.

Dump the judges altogether. Do some kind of live audience vote instead of having the judges input. Get rid of the audition episodes and cut right to Hollywood week.
Lets face it, AL died after the found Adam Lambert. They have not been able to have a good show/battle since. No one and I mean no one can generate fans to tune in like Adam did. This past season was a snoozzzzzzzz fest. Once AL changed the judges and the format the show was dommed. Maybe some stars can bring it back to life but the show never get the sparkle it had with Simon and contestents like Adam Lambert.

Jennifer Lopez cannot sing, her pitch is horrible, how are they going to have her telling people about their voices when she was given a free ride on making music. After Selena she got big but she singing was not a great talent for her. Maybe she can be a judge on a dancing show but I don’t think so. American Idol has gone down hill and they just need to end it.

I like the Jessica Simpson idea. Randy Jackson should stay, he’s a great judge. I can see Randy Jackson, Jessica Simpson, and Eric Foster as the A.I. judges.
I believe JLo is a wonderful addition to the American Idol franchise. Her music and acting career is staling so she might as well host an upscale reality talent show. I’m glad Ellen finally excepted her own truth and graciously level the show. Kara deserved to be fired, she kept trying to upstage Paula and Simon. I really didn’t like her on the show. I like Randy, I’m glad he has his own competition reality show.
Honestly, I think Eric Foster , Jennifer Lopez, and Randy Jackson would make a great set of judges. They all would bring some different to the table.
Eric foster was wonderful on Oprah’s show. He gave great advice to new music sensation Charice. I’m not so sure about Steve Tyler. I sometimes have a tough time taking him serious.

Clearly…this show and its ratings are now hooked up to life support..No Simon…who..you might say was the left ventricle of the show’s format, with Kara being the right ventricle..as we all know..without a “Heart”..the show, simply dies..leaving some mourners and those of us who think…”Enough Already”..

Good for AI the show needs a change of faces and this new change is going to be good for AI and there Ratings are going to go up , I say To the new faces Welcome to AI and have fun this show is going to be around for a long time way to go AI.
Stopped watch AI when Ellen joined the judges. AI will never be the same without Simon and Paula. Simon is the real reason why I watch the show in the first place. At least he is brutally honest and doesn’t sugar coat things.

Amazing to me that some of the posters STILL don’t get what making music, that lasts is about. How can someone NOT know who the hell Steven Tyler is..really? Jlo, well that is TBD. BTW, the show was created to find and nurture new talent, I think Steven Tyler has a mouth, he can be critical, I have heard him talk. But get it through your head people, not one person can EVER replace Simon, never. So, the show will take a different feel, and that is ok. I think change is always hard, but change in this case is way over due!

Kara is a waste on the show the first season she was a rag doll in the corner who did not contribute anyting to the show…last season she was a paula wannna b and she could not pull it off..she was a sorry excuse for a judge and had gotten this huge ego…she needed to be taken off the air..i hated watching idol with her..once i knew simon was gone i was considering not watching idol, but now that they are getting steven and jennifer it will be worth while watching…still would of loved to see simon up there but still think it is going to be a great success season for them…and kara history makes me wanta sing!!!!!
Kara Sucked! She never made it big! American Idol was her claim to fame! She was a wanna be Simon but in a short skirt. I believe American Idol made a great decision. Heck I could of done a better job than Kara! I believe they need someone controversial and well liked! Someone like Pink, Madonna or Perhaps a previous idol contestant like Daughtrey. I believe Adam Lambert will make an awesome judge! He is so talented and controversial at the same time.

I wondered why they took Kara as a 4th judge. I think 4 judges is a crowd. Three judges are just fine. JLo nor Steven is not going to bring American idol back to fame it once had.
I used to love watching american idol but since paula left its gone down hill and now with the new judges panel it makes it even worse. I always look forward to the new season but this time i dont care. its gona be a matter of time before its off the air for good.

Come on people, the show is about whos got talent and the music. I believe you need different types of judges with different interest in music styles to make to show interesting. I like all types of music. Come on who doesn’t love classic rock Tyler and JLO and Kara is a great song writer. I’ll still watch and so will you.
It’s too bad cuz i kinda like kara but she had to go. we all know that. she just wasn’t cutting it and really didn’t bring anything exciting or interesting to the judging process. same with ellen….she has to go or had to go. i think perhaps wendy or mabel should be hired and should be new judges. mabel with her vast experience in karaoke evenings at bob and joe’s pub should really lend a good deal of fun and precision to her ability to judge. she also worked many weekends at various weddings throughout the pacific northwest so that alone shows that she is competent to be a good judge. wendy has honed her judging skills with many late nights of parcheesi and also is known to belt out a tune or two during her morning shower. all in all it’s a smart move on idol’s part to dump kara and bring in some truly talented and skilled judges that have many many years of experience which we will all see on display when idol opens up it’s eighteenth season this fall.
Firing Kara is the final straw for me. I would have continued to watch if it were Randy, Kara and a new person (say someone like Carnie Wilson, Wynona Judd, Billy Joel, David Foster, someone who is a bit of a veteran or comes for a strong musical background). Jennifer Lopez will not cut it. And Steven Tyler as an even worse addition. I think, if this is the best they can do, that AI has probably run its course and it might be time to pull the plug. I for one won’t be watching with that line-up. I like Randy and Ryan, but it’s not enough. Sad. I think they’ve underestimated their audience. I think they’ve made a mistake in firing Kara.
Surprising to see not many here do not appreciate Steven Tyler’s addition. I myself am surprised he accepted to do it. It is way below his league. That is a big catch for AI. I personally would not have wanted Steven in the show. Jeez most of you here are real ignoramuses. lol
Kara was all about herself, droning on and on about stupid stuff, wasting everyone’s time. I’m glad she’s gone. She was trying to be a star, and get attention away from the contestants onto herself. That’s apparent when she came out in a bikini, trying to get people to look at her. That’s not the behavior of a judge. That’s the behavior of an immature little girl who was jealous about other female contestants.
Re: Ellen – I think AI producers gave her the option to either quit on her own terms, or be fired right along side Kara. They gave Ellen the time to do a press release in the morning, then they came out with the naming of the other judges, and the news that Kara was out, later in the day. They did not want to humiliate Ellen by firing her, so they told her to retire herself from the show.
I think Randy should go, too. Just replace all of them, while we’re in there cleaning house. They could find a better judge than Randy with his “Yeah – Yeah”, his “Yo yo Dawg” and “Listen up or Check it out” limited and boring vocabulary.

O.k this is just a thought and something I have been thinking of since the announcement that Simon was leaving, the only person I see with Simon s Qualifications and can be just as nasty is Sean Combs…I also think Brett Michael’s has just as much talent if not more then the rest on the panel and he should be another judge. The worse thing they did was hire Kara, everytime I saw her I wanted to turn the channel. She has no talent and copies everyting Randy says so you get the same remarks twice.

The third judge (four are too many) should be a relatively insane person. That award goes to Ozzie, but if he’s in prison or in rehab, just choose another druggy like David Bowie,etc

I think the judges should have been Harry Connick Jr, Randy and Kara should have stayed. Harry Connick Jr is absolutely the best choice for a male judge. Steven Tyler is an awsome singer, but come on… he would be better at judging a screaming contest. Kara and Randy have been there long enough to know what to expect from the singers and auditioners. Harry Connick Jr, You would have been a breath of fresh air in the upcoming AI season. So sorry they didn’t offer you enough to come in. Kara you will be very much missed. I’m glad to see Kara get the axe. She wasn’t interested in anyone else but herself. She was really obnoxious. I love Ellen but she is not a singer and definitely was out of place as a judge. Steven Tyler— just because his band has been around for ages doesn’t mean he is a good singer. He might bring the older folks in as viewers. I guess that is positive. JLO is pretty, well mannered and a great actress— but a model singer she is NOT. What ever happened to Harry Connick Jr. ??? It would be worthwhile to have at least ONE person judge that knew how to sing— don’t you think?? Adam Lambert is a magnificent singer—- but he is a freak of nature and I don’t want to watch him kiss guys during AI. I’d say at this point all AI has going for it is — Randy and Ryan. Randy just dogged his way through every show. Kara had no class, why would AI allow her to attempt to out do a contentant by showing her body. This was a family show not a See me, I’m Kara, soon to replace Paula. Ellen has no music talent, good call leaving. AI is on its way out. Bring back the two that made the show, Paula and Simon. I miss them.

This is very sad for IDOL fans. The show was a great concept and did give a vehicle for otherwise unnoticed talent to show the music industry what they could contribute. However, Simon’s departure marked the end of the line. Idol saw it’s first ratings drop last year after Simon made his announcement and I see no reason for this drop not to continue. Especially with Simon Cowell’s new show next year going head to head with AI.
Sad to see you go. I enjoyed all the new talent it brought forward.
