Kayli – I feel there is a breakdown in our negotiations. One can not alter said negotiations with a 3rd party (VNG) without the express written consent of party to the 1st party (ME) approval.
I feel that if we are still in agreement to Shrew being sent to Amsterdam, then the previous contract is still binding in respect to each part, section, and paragraph and hereto the validity in question is offical and non-breakable.

If she does and its a big IF then she will lose all credability. Her best bet would be to ignore what the layman is saying. Its an adaptation, things have to be cut, even for two films the book is too damn long, someone somewhere is always going to be pissed that such and such scene didn’t make it, so what exactly is the purpose of this exercise for her and summit?

How is FOX going to control the awards that are given for work related to TW? At this point, ANY award that TW wins is ‘exposure’ in my opinion. The ‘best kiss’ award; this one is THE make or break award for PRsten. Given it’s subjective whether i was a disaster or ‘proof’ @MTV it was still exposure, and it’s STILL being discussed. So is it possible to find another winner? THEN, one could say PRSten is dead from the fan perspective and ~we~ might be able to move on collectively.

Good question!!!! My advice for R and Fox is to find some way around the Kiss/Chemistry moment. Perhaps have someone else accept the award for R if possible. We all know how great a comedian R is. I loved R in the MTV Tom Cruise parody, that was classic!!!! I still talk about it LOL!!! IMO: Comic relief is always good for sticky situations.

What Fox would get in the short term by promoting Robsten will not last for a week. However, the wrath Fox and R will receive by playing the Robsten card, will last for months, months and months. They will have to decide if it’s worth the risk. R is smart, I’m sure R will do what he thinks is best, he always does.

Yeah, Rob does have that sarcastic funny side. So I’m sure he will come up with something funny if he finds out that they won. Maybe he can pull out the hoola hoops and juggling?

IMO, I would think they (Summit) would want to keep the media exposure up to keep appease the fan base. They need the fan base to stay interested for box office sales for the next two movies given their tactics we have witnesses up to this point. I would think that we may see a lull until filming begins and then leaks throughout until the saturation prior to the release. This strategy seems to have worked for Eclipse, no?

But a storm is brewing amongst fans of the series and those who are not. I can’t tell u some of the backlash that’s in store for Summit. It’s pretty bad……..BD 1 is the only movie they should do. I mean really?

I saw posts that MR is looking for fan feedback regarding script strategy. Smacks of pandering to me.

BD was a horrible book by all accounts, obsessed fans too.
They can’t stay ‘true to the book’ like they have done and been beaten into submission by the fans for the 3 previous. So how to go forward? Use the story line and use the script to appeal to the favorite characters? That’s one way to go.

I think MR asking for fans input is just a strategy to try to appease the fans, bc Summit knows BD was the least liked book.

I think this is going to back fire, because what does this do to MR’s reputation as a screenwirter? Especially if she uses these ideas. Yeah, some fans may be happy with the suggestions, but shouldn’t MR know how to develop a good or great screenplay on her own without fan input.

So this maybe a dangerous move on MR’s and Summits part. I wonder how SM feels about it too?

I agree Kim, I think I posted about this on another thread. MR should have the balls to stand by her own work, to ask laypeople for ideas or to appease fans – she will just lose all credability.

At the end of the day the fans will all like different aspects of the book so the recommendation will be to do the whole book (shudder). What can they possibly hope to gain from this, especially MR as it appears to be nothing less than a career sinker to me.
