KARA DIOGUARDI SHOCKED AND APPALLED THAT SHE’S BEEN FIRED FROM HER AMERICAN IDOL GIG!

Kara DioGuardiKARA DioGuardi is allegedly “shocked” that she’s been fired from American Idol.

The star is being kicked to the curb in favor of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler – and she’s horrified!

“Kara loved judging Idol,” a source said. “She’s horrified that she’s just being tossed aside like this.

“She understands the show is in need of a revamp, but Kara really thought she had a job for as long as she wanted it. She’s beside herself.”

Assuming all deals are finalized, the Idol judge’s panel will reportedly consist of Randy Jackson, Lopez and Tyler.

Back in May, Showbiz Spy reported that Idol judges were bracing themselves for a bloodbath.

“Everything is on the table,” a source said at the time.

“Nothing and no one is safe from change.

“There have been discussions about moving the show to New York, documenting the contestants living and fighting together in one big house and also eliminating the judges altogether.

“The only one who is safe is Ryan Seacrest.”

  1. Linda Battershall says:

I found her too abrasive and not at all appealing. I’m not sorry she’s gone.

    • Karen says:

Kara abrasive? SHe was articulate, positive, offered excellent constructive critiques that were always dead on when followed! Simon was abrasive – but he could pull it off – that was his style. Kara – you will be missed!

      • Ugonna says:

I totally disagree with you. She hardly knew what she was talking about. I’m glad she’s gone.

      • Paula says:

Postive to only the ones she liked. She kicked Casey and Siobhan to the curb and deserves everything she gets. I’m glad she’s gone.

    • Sassy says:

Abrasive – exactly! And pushy and condescending and a know-it-all. She must live in a cave to not have seen this coming. I think that’s what made her such a crappy judge – she was so self-absorbed, she had no clue how she was coming across. Good riddance!

  2. Jane Thorne says:

If Tyler is on that show, I’ll never watch it again….
    Thanks for nothing.

    • Greg says:

Ellen and Paula were the worst judges ever. Added nothing constructive other than “I liked it” and “you look cute”. Now IDOL is losing the only good judges they had. Simon was the best and Kara actually add things the constestants could use. This is another reason the show is going down the tubes. ost Kara was going to be the only good judge left on the show. How good is it going to be if the judges tell everyone they did as good job. SOrry, Randy is almost as bad as the other two. Could he do more than say “dog” and Boo every time the announce Simon’s name.

    • Randy says:

Steven Tyler??? Great, we will end up with 12 people that can scream through a song. I am done with Idol!!

      • Connie W. says:

Agreed. Also, I believe that Kara was the best judge left with the best critiques after Simon. I doubt that the show will survive.

  3. Tina R says:

Well Im not surprised shes gone at all! Didn’t care for her myself..However will miss Ellen and I miss Paula..Not so comfortable with the replacements..BORING! Hang on Randy..without him it would be horrible!!

    • connor says:

I totally agree with you, I didn’t care for her too much when she first came on, her attitude, just didn’t like it one bit & she thinks she’s better than alot of people which she isn’t. To me, I really happy taht she’s been axed & I’m confident that JLo is def better but Tyler ???

  4. Eric says:

kara sucked ass…she was so lame with her responses..dont care for jlo either, but maybe it will be a step up. miss that old bastard simon..

  5. Cami says:

Kara knows music and was an EXCELLENT judge. Very sad for the show to lose her. Much more helpful than Randy’s constant “pitchy” comments for contestants. She has written many beautiful songs. Her talent will be missed.

  6. jamie says:

One of the best shows on TV going down hill real fast. Hasn’t been good since season 7. Season 4 was the best with Carrie and Bo

  7. Never liked her anyway, frankly speaking, I think this is the beginning of the end for Idol.

    • KO says:

Good riddance!!!!! This article says Kara is a star. Who are they kidding, a star of what?

      • Dor says:

well lets see. Simon got mushy this past season, actually a bit of humor from time to time. Like a softer side of him. Was a nice change. Ellen, i like her but in her own show, shes funny.
Randy keeps saying the same pitchy remarks. Kara was a bit forward but perhaps just trying to make a point (?). I’m not too fond of Steve Tyler.. or JLo. But am glad that Howard Stern didn’t join it.I too, like Maria Scott said above, believe this is the beginning of the end for American Idol. The last two season’s they picked the wrong ones anyways for the “idols”.

  8. Glad to see her go – she is a “no talent” but she truly believes that she is in a position to judge those people who DO (have talent) Sayonara!!

  9. Blake says:

you guys are all so dumb…kara was the only one besides simon that actually KNOWS the music business considering she’s written countless hits & she’s an amazing songwriter. she spoke the truth & she spoke about what the contestants really need to have to make it in the business. but most americans vocabularies are so limited that most people probably didn’t understand what she was saying. she was the only one besides simon that actually gave constructive criticism. she wasn’t saying ‘that was good. that was bad’ like ellen said everytime. she was going into detail to help the contestants. they should’ve kept her & just added jlo on.

    • Julie says:

I totally concur with what you said!

      • Jason says:

And I ‘totally concur with what you said!’. He’s speaking the truth. Without her, all we will be hearing from the judges is that constant ‘Your pitchy!’ comment.

And to say she has no talent is an insult, shes really an amazing songwriter.

  10. KO says:

The show is dead without Simon

  11. Blake says:

oh and to say she isn’t talented is complete ignorance. NOT ONLY CAN SHE SING HER ASS OFF, search for Terrified on Youtube, but she is an amazing songwriter.

  12. Seamus says:

    that shark has been jumped,

    so long American Idol

  13. Karen says:

Kara was an excellent and well qualified judge. She was a songwriter, record producer and music publisher. Some here posted she had an abrasive style – WHAT? You mean Simon? That’s was his style – but he could pull it off. I actually preferred her articulate, helpful and positive style over Paula’s loopy, let’s love on everyone style.

Steven Tyler – who thought that was a good idea? Someone who thought he’d bring in a good “shock factor” I guess.

Folks, welcome to the show’s desperate last season. Bye AI – you’ve seen better days. Thanks for the memory.

  14. Ann says:

Without Paula and Simon, the show is already dead. Kara added nothing to the show. She was never appealing and she always had a bad attitude. Idol can bring in President Obama if they want, but the show will still suck.

    • IrvingGirl says:

So very true.I will never watch it again since the demise of Simon.Seeing Paula leave was bad enough.

  15. Laurie says:

I think the show will soon end. Kara WAS the ONLY judge who knew what she was talking about and she did it in a way that actually helped the singers better themselves. There is no one there now to represent country music and actually the ones that are there probably HATE country music and really Carrie Underwood is the most successful winner idol has had. Give me a break “J-Lo! She is a great actress but singer? She is studio fixed 100%. She is another one who can’t stay on key live. Steven Tyler great if you like yelling rock and roll.

  16. Grady says:

jlo & Tyler? I guess the next season will be the last for Idol. I thought Kara and Cowell were the only real judges on the show. If Idol thinks people will tune in to watch the star power of Tyler & jlo (TLO) they had better be signing each show. No one is going to care to hear them Hey Hey Duden with Randy. BAD MOVE IDOL

  17. Sean says:

Randy is cool. Ellen is funny. (actually Ellen is quite interesting). Thats hollywood – when they are through sucking the life out of you – your history. – Get Hillary Clinton to be a judge.

  18. Di says:

The reason I watch Idol is the contestants. I like to see new talent. The judges are fun and a great asset to the show. BUT PLEASE do not make it into another reality show by showing the contestants fighting et. We have enough of those shows on TV already. They are all a waste of time. Where is real entertainment anymore?

  19. Will Gates says:

Kara should have used common sense when she decided to pose nude, while she was critiquing young people. It’s pretty hard to care what someone says when she did something like that. Use your head next time!!!

  20. IrvingGirl says:

Kara may know her music but her self confidence comes across quite obnoxious and self-centered along with a jealous persona. She clearly does not fit this show – nor did Ellen nor will Tyler I am still on the fence about Lopez??Anyway I think Kara needs to be moved to Top Model where she could serve a better purpose.. But people should not really worry about American Idol anyway, this will be the last season coming up !It CANNOT make it without Simon! Accept it or don’t but it was HE who made the show??

    • Quirkygrl says:

THIS. Kara looked good as judge on paper. She’s an industry executive, songwriter, singer and musician. That qualifies her as a judge. But Randy is also an industry exec and musician. It’s about personality and delivering meaningful critiques that are honest, then shutting up and letting Simon speak. She couldn’t do that. She had to have the last word, she had to try make it all about herself. She had to try to out-simon Simon. Climbing all over Simon at the judging panel? Calling Ellen one of the “guys” as if she’s the only real woman on the panel? Calling herself a “cougar” as if it’s a good thing? Her condescending “sweetie”, her need to strip off her clothes for attention? Her narcissism? She undermined her own credibility and became increasingly unlikeable in the process. She some good insights at times, but I couldn’t stand her at the end. I never liked Simon or thought he was all that either, but he sold the show to Fox and deserves props for that. I’m not sorry to see either of them go. Randy better step it up this season. He’s capable of giving better critiques but phones it in most of the season. I’m reserving judgment on JLo and Steven Tyler

  21. gerald says:

that’s OK but thank goodness ELLEN is gone..she suck just like howie mandel in AGT!!!

  22. denise says:

I luved Karen she brought great dignity to show. She had great fashion I thnk the show is going down probably wont watch it this season at all. Luv Randy!!!

  23. kevin.l says:

i’ll miss kara cause she was pretty hot. u should see the nude pics they have of her at http://wowurl.com/11bma

  24. Ugonna says:

Kara had no clue what she was talking about, despite her musical background. She constantly made me want to pull my hair out with her nonsensical “views”. I have no idea what the defenders here are talking about. They just took her words at face value cause of her background it seems. This is the first step in putting Idol back on track. Most of the audience still didn’t like her after 2 seasons, there is no point keeping regardless of whether she even gave good advice(which she didn’t) or not.

  26. carol says:

This really is the end of the show. It is a good idea to try it without judges, and have the contestants live together.Trying a new format may help. Other than that, It is a gonner without Simon.

  27. jazzman says:

NO NO NO!!!! Please not Jennifer Lopez…The show is over if you bring her on!!

  28. Mary says:

Thank Goodness! She annoyed me to death. Idol needed a revamp but with Simon gone even a revamp won’t save the Show. Even Ryan has gotten annoying but easier to take.

  29. thound says:

    Is this show still on?

Was anyone even interested in the coffee shop rejects they had has posing as “talent” last year?

I’ve seen better singers and musicians panhandling in subway tunnels.

  30. Robert says:

American Idol is going from bad to worse. The end of American Idol is here. Executives should just take it out of the air.

I actually liked Kara. I love Ellen as a comedian and tv host, but not as an American Idol judge. The same for JLO. I love seeing her in movies but I seriously don’t think JLO brings anything to the table as a judge.

American Idol execs are desperate and this is only going to doom the show even more.

    Goodbye American Idol!

    • Bye bye says:

Of the comments that I have read, your comment reflects what I believe, not that it matters since I already drifted away from the show. I liked Paula on the show, even if her critiques were spacey sometimes. Randy is the one that doesn’t seem to have anything going for himself on the show. It is kind of sad when as a judge, the only thing people can remember you for is the word ‘pitchy’. When Paula left, I was already on my way out. Am I one of the few to actually like the idea that Simon is gone? I found him rude, arrogant, and basically a pr@ck. Yes, he created a show that has produced some really good talent, but I’m sure that there are much better people out there in the music industry that can be constructive in criticism, and not so darn manipulative with choosing the winners ahead of time, or at least making it pretty clear who he wanted to win before the season was anywhere near done. I may start to watch the show again just to see the new judges, but I believe that there should be all new judges.

  31. Zoinky says:

Kara blew, who cares that she is teenybop songwriter, she was brash and rude and overconfident, overly animated, just really bad. Simon didnt know American music history so sometimes he was a joke, Paula was a blast and made the show, and Randy, dog, is a joke. New cast will blow up, bad choices………………………..

    Adios Idol, it’s all over>

  32. Patty Fitz says:

It is a good thing she has other talents because being a judge was never one of them. I couldn’t stand listening to her, ever. So glad she is gone. Ellen should never have been a judge either. It is hard to say who was worse as a judge. Simon will be missed big time but if they replaced Randy it would be no loss either, dog.

  33. mmc says:

As much as i like Steven Tyler and Jo lo , don’t they make enough money as it is.It’s a dosgrace thhat Kara is gone. She knew what she was talking about and was not abrasive. It’s called knowing what you’re talking about. To tell the truth I think the producers a re scrambling because they know without Simon they’re doomed.I would have liked to see Steve Perry of Journey or Bret Michaels.Steve for old times sake and Bret because he’s so lovable and lucky to be alive!!!!

  34. ann harbert says:

The great thing is that they are going back to having only 3 judges. It never worked with 4 judges – too much time talking and less time to spend on the contestants.

  35. The show is not about songwriting. It is about celebrity. Kara may write well (like may others do) and she may sing good (like many many others do) but 99.99% of us have never heard of her ever in our life. I feel her opinions were as if Gary Coleman was judging the NBA. He was never a star of the NBA and she was never a star of music. She should build on her strengths and continue writing. Ellen, I love Ellen. But she’s completely out of her element. Randy… is just plain stupid. Dog this and Dog that YO YO YO? Ride out dude. Build a bridge and get over yourself. Jennifer Lopez should stay touring. She’s great. tyler…he is awesome. I don’t care for the man, but if anyone knows what it takes to be a star, he does. But all in all…AI died when Simon left. END OF STORY!!

  36. kevin says:

Well, atleasts Kara has a good, strong musical background! What is Jennifer Lopez gonna teach them? If you don’t have a fat a** that you can shake…..you don’t have a career!!!! True she has had hit records but, so has Brittney Spears and my gosh she is full of talent.
Atleast we will have Randy…..but, don’t really she the show going past this next season.

  37. Sammie says:

I am so glad to see you go Kara. You was mean and nastey and I bet ten to one you are the reason Ellen is not going to be with us this next season, and if you really get down to it, same for Simon. What goes around, comes around…..Now I will watch next season of American Idol, this news has made my day.

  38. Grlspitfire says:

She was the only legit person. As for being mean and nasty, apparently, most of you have never been to an audition, which I have. I’ve been on some major productions, still never “made it” and I know how it is. Kara had great advice and was a good balance. I’m through. They should have got rid of Seacrest. I can’t stand him.

  39. ginny says:

    It’s sad,but I think Idol is finished.
Kara, tho not very likable was an ok judge.Simon kept it interesting,if at times a bit rude, and I thought Ellen was a good judge because she was a voice for fans.Paula,I never missed her fumbling for words like a person with lock jaw.I have nothing against J.L,but I think the show is appearing desperate, and people like confidence.

  41. Michael says:

Both Kara and Ellen were bad choices. Kara has written some good songs over the years but nobody knew who she was and she is really difficult to like. Ellen is very likable but come on, she had no idea what to say or what she was talking about. The show must go on and I think the producers made a tough but smart decision.

  42. Hank says:

Kara is SIZZLING HOT. Check out her profile on myh site.

  43. kathy says:

Admittedly Kara is an extremely talented singer/songwriter. This past season it was difficult to tell if the intent was to give honest constructive advice to contestants or to distract attention and focus on Kara. I found her to be caustic and abrasive to a few contestants and her “critiques” so muddled they were beyond comprehension. I think her highly animated comment to the effect that a contestant’s voice sounded like “dirt” speaks well of her character.

  44. mannequinface says:

What I can say is, I think it was fine from it’s beginning when they had Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, even though Randy does not really provide good constructive criticism for the contestants. I always liked Paula. She was always positive and supportive from its inception. She was careful with her comments because she did not want to hurt anyone. She is a gentle person. I don’t think American Idol is going to be the same anymore without these judges. I also think there are a lot of mish mash going on. The American Idol show is not stable anymore as it was before.

  45. I’m surprised Kara was fired. I thought she always had great feedback for the singers. She knows music pretty well.

  46. mannequinface says:

    test

  47. BORED@_THEMOMENT says:

GOOD SHE SUCKED!! I DIDN’T LIKE HER ATTITUDE/DEMEANOR EVERYTHING WAS HIDEOUS. I MAY START WATCHING AGAIN. LOPEZ,TYLER AND JACKSON DOESN’T SOUND HALF BAD..ALTHO I’D RATHER HAVE OZZY REPLACE SIMON…MALE BRITS..ARE THE BEST!..HILARIOUS.. CASE IN POINT CHEF RAMSEY..SMILE

  48. mannequinface says:

What I can say is that, American Idol was strong when it started when they had Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. I have been watching the show for a long time now. I think it was fine when they had the three judges. I think Simon Cowell was pretty good with his comments and Paula Abdul was always supportive and positive from its inception. She was careful with her comments because she did not want to hurt anyone. As for Randy, I don’t think he knows much about the music industry because he wasn’t saying much. I think now that Simon Cowell is gone and Paula Abdul is gone, the American Idol show is not the same without them anymore. I just think that there are a lot of mish mash going on and the show is not stable anymore as it was before.

  49. JaneWonderfalls says:

I knew there was a reason I never watched Idol… “Oh Yeah, It is lame”, Once Simon left this show should have the plug pulled completely, There mediocre talent and shows and showman ship. Yeah Wake Up America, you suck and so does Idol.

  50. Barb Donnellon says:

Okay – I think a lot of you are missing the whole problem. Even though Paula had some quirks, when it was her, Randy and Simon, the show worked. It was a huge success and viewership was at its greatest. Bring in Kara, ratings went down. She was self-centered, rude, and jealous (very flirtatious with the boys too and out of line). In comes Ellen (who by the way I do love) but what experience does she have in the music business. Ratings go down even further. She was smart to exit as she did – I think she realized she was out of her league.
The problem with the show is the judges have their ideas of who they want to win and they “guide” the audience in that direction instead of working with the ones who really can sing. Just because ‘you look good’, doesn’t mean you can carry a tune and that’s where this show has gone.
Sad to say, but I agree, I think the show is on its last season unless they get some better talent on there. JLo and Tyler, not so sure about that.

  51. Darlene says:

I won’t miss Kara, but if they do the whole “put them in one house and watch them fight” I know I will no longer be tuning in. It’s a talent show. We watch for the development of talent in those who have the potential to become great artists. Not so we can watch just another so-called reality soap opera. If they want that – go watch House wives of whatever county or Jersey Shore.

  52. Kara Stan says:

I could just cry : ( tho I love simon, she’s the only reason why I watched this past season. Paula left, simon left and now kara? :’( I LOVE kara and I don’t want her to go!

  53. Miguel says:

PEOPLE, dont believe everything you read. Her contract was to be renegotiated, I guess they did NOT agree to terms. I am sure there were clauses and loopholes, just like every contract. She wasn’t “fired”. Fired were to be if they let her go in the midlle of the season or something like that.

  54. veggie mama says:

I thought Kara’s comments were often insightful musically and she knows music, is expeienced and positive. I liked her alot. While Ellen was funny and entertaining, i found she had little to offer music-wise. Randy is an allaround good guy, knows music and is fun! JLo will be an interesting addition, as she brings her fan base with her and knows music business. Good to see her concentrate on other people than her self too.

  55. Tad says:

i only watched Idol because of Kara.

  56. Danny says:

Nah nuh nah nah! Nah nuh nah nah! Hey Hey Hey….. Goodbye!

  57. John says:

I will really miss Simon. Ellen was out of place on the show.No musical savvy. Kara had her moments with handsome young men, but all in all she seemed fair. I hope Tyler dosen’t fall off the stage. I can watch JLO anytime.

  58. Edgar Farfenoogle says:

Bye Kara. I knew you would be fired because I don’t remember anything you did for the show. Steven Tyler on American Idol???? You have got to be kidding me. There would have been a day when I would have called him a sell out and if you were from back in the day when Steven first started out with the bad boys from Boston you would know what I mean. But nowadays, hell, go for it and make as much bread as you can Steven, and laugh all the way to the bank. Stay away from the opiates my friend. They are going to be everywhere if you are doing a steady show like that. Be careful. Jennifer Lopez. I must admit, the idea is intriguing to have these two characters on the show. Too bad they are keeping Randy. They should axe him as well and hire someone equally as shocking as the other two. I bet that first show of the new season will be watched by they most people ever watching AI. Record breaking time.

  59. deb says:

Kara was jealous of Paula. no one can replace Simon or Paula. Just hasn’t been the same since Paula has been gone.I really hate to see how it is going to be without Simon too. Love them both!!!!

  60. Edgar Farfenoogle says:

And one more thing about JLo. I just saw her again in Gigli and I forgot how beautiful she looked in that movie. She was filmed wearing some very sexy skimpy workout outfits that hugged her punnannee. And when she was talking about what is the most desirable organ, the peanut or the punnanne, you could see the outline of her. And when she said to her then fiance at the time Ben Afleck, I want to suck your co** for 15 hours straight, that was quite the shocking, sexy statement coming from her lips, if you’ll pardon the pun.

  61. deb says:

Good bye Kara and good riddens!!!!!

  62. Edgar Farfenoogle says:

And I wonder if the reason Ryan isn’t being fired is because him and Simon are secretly lovers? Simon seems a bit gay sometimes…actually he seems a lot gay. Not that I find anything wrong with that, except if you are why not admit it and be honest. Am I the only one that thinks he comes of as very effeminate sometimes…a lot of times actually.

  63. Dale C says:

Simon was the best judge ever. Kara was close. But, I hated to hear her speak! Ellen was an audience member. Randy is OK. Paula just got too spaced out. JLO might pull it off. But it will be hard to respect JLO for she is way more of an actor than a singer/performer. TYLER has been too much drama w/AEROSMITH since Moby Dick was a minnow. I think he’ll be spaced out like Paula was. Why is SEACREST still employed? No one remembers last year or the year before winners anyways.

  64. Sherri says:

Well, I guess I am going to be joining the ranks of those who say they will probably not watch the show anymore. I don’t care that Kara is leaving. I never got much out of her assessments, anyway. But Steven Tyler?? And Nigel???? Uuuhhhggggggg. From a seriously diehard Idol fan….Stick a fork in me….I think I’m done.

  65. Robert says:

After last season I shouldn’t watch Idol any more .it doesn’t matter how a person votes they pick who they want (the producers).so why vote.now they take away a good person like Kara and put a slimball like Steven Tyler in there . I know I am not watching anymore .good bye Idol.

  66. Anon says:

I guess J-Lo has finally realized that her movie career is over. Since she can’t come up with any decent music anymore, I guess Idol’s all that’s left. Either that or Dancing with the Stars. As for Steven Tyler, well, Aerosmith has their own roller coaster and video game, so they’re pretty much done. I’ll be watching the X Factor, the show Simon’s bringing over for Britain and one of the main reasons he left Idol; I suggest you all do the same. ^^; No age limit. <3

  67. Brianna says:

Hopefully Kara will learn to stop being too self centered. She would talk bad about contestants in her interviews and she would brainwash the contestants too.

  68. Lynn says:

I’m glad she is gone. I found it insulting and obnoxious when she asked Kasey James to take off his shirt during the audition. Can you image if Simon or Randy had asked that of a female contestant?

Also found all the pawing and flirting with Simon to be in bad taste, with her being married and him newly engaged.

  69. George William Gockel says:

I will be watching Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler as the 2 new judges with Randy Jackson on American Idol.

    • Jannie says:

Yes, it will be interesting to watch this year with the changes. Afterall, it is a TV show, and as a TV show, as long as it entertains the viewers, it will do just fine.

  70. eric says:

Kara already had one failed tv talent show. If Idol kept, her, it would have been two. She has all the credentials, is attractive, extremely talented. The problem is that she is not likeable, at least not in this format, and nobody would tune in because of her. Ellen was a tad more likeable, but no credentials, and so nobody really cared what she said. She really just took up space. I think they were wise to keep Randy. He is not as flashy, but is kind of like Buddha sitting there and he does know what he is talking about. Plus I like and respect him.
Steven Tyler. Too early to say for me. I thought Harry Connick, Jr. was the only other one mentioned who I would tune in to see.

  71. eric says:

I think the show was produced better when Nigel was there. Except for one big problem. In his last season he kept situating himself in the audience so he would be seen. I think his ego perhas got the best of him. I think he would be better to stay behind the cameras on this show. We already see enough of him on the dancing show.

What I do wonder is why Ellen was allowed to bow out gracefully while Kara is fired. Is there some reason? I wonder if Idol surveys showed so many people that did not like Kara that Idol is trying to distance themselved from her by calling it a “firing” rather than using a less insulting was of saying they could not come to terms.

    • hera says:

Maybe Idol wasn’t planning on firing Ellen as they fired Kara. Ellen had a voluntary exit from the show, so it was different from Kara being fired.

  73. Jules Cully says:

I think there should Replace Simon with George Michael,
Randy is great, and should get another Male or Female to replace Kara, There some really good singer out there from the 80’s & 90’s with good backgrounds..

  74. Wendy says:

You know what, she was not that bad a judge. It is unfortunate but let’s face it once a business like Idol brings in less money due to lower ratings, even when you do your job properly like Kara did you can lose your job.

  75. JonArbues says:

I use to like kara when way back on season 8… but on season 9.. after throwing Siobhan Magnus under the bus.. saying that she is confused!! what the hell Kara are you saying about… happy that she leave the idol… poor kara

  76. hera says:

Kara’s gone.. Yes! What a moment! I think I’m gonna throw a party right here, right now.
Seriously, she’s good for nothing. She doesn’t know what she was talking about. She said she’s confused with Siobhan? Since when did a good performance and a good singer with such a great personality got so confusing?
KARA is confusing. She deserves to be fired.

The trouble with Idol for the past 2 years was having more time on the judges instead of on the contestants. Imagine that they had to chop off a song to accommodate the blabbering of self-centered judges like Simon and Kara for what…four to five minutes vs the 90 seconds for the contestant’s actual song?

Kara was jealous of the younger and more attractive contestants like the very talented Siobhan Magnus so instead of being encouraging she was discouraging toward her. And when it was obvious she was going to get nothing from Casey James, she threw him under the bus as well.

  77. guest says:

The show has seen it day..time for something new….the talent is getting less and less as time goes on.
    In my humble opinion.

  78. DEB says:

Well I guess she knows how Paula felt now,I am glad she is gone she has a BIG EGO !!!! Paula was wacky but fun to watch .

  79. Xmasdolly says:

Whatever happened to Brett Michaels? He would’ve been a fantastic judge. Thank God we still have Randy. He’s the best Judge there is. Kara just could not cut it. She was always in left field & always wanted to upstage everyone as shown she ridiculed herself when she got up on stage in a bikini & that song she wrote totally sucked for the idol finale.

  80. Capt Dave Patterson says:

Drugs on the bus, drugs on the bus, get caught with drugs on the bus and Idol job is a bust!

  81. Sherri says:

What happened to Bret Michaels? I thought he had a great shot at it. And I am glad that Kara’s gone. I don’t disagree that she was articulate and did have SOME good advice. Problem is, she always was trying to upstage everyone else. It was annoying and obvious, and that’s why lots of people didn’t care for her. Now, I like Aerosmith, but come on…Steven Tyler? Who makes these choices, anyway? If they let the public vote (ONE vote per household/computer/phoneline), they would get a MUCH better idea as to who they want to let come into their homes every week. Steven Tyler, for me anyway, isn’t one of them……..

  82. Ernest says:

I believed Kara was in a very good position to be a judge–mostly. I genuinly thought she was doing a very good job. IDOL DID NOT DO BAD, IN RATINGS, THIS PAST SEASON BC OF KARA OR ANYONE ELSE(WELL, MAYBE BC OF SIMON), MANY STOPPED WATCHING BC OF SEASONS EIGHT(8) IRRESPONSIBLE AND DISHONORABLE BASHINGS OF THE CONTESTANTS BY SIMON. HE WAS TOO BIAS, TOO ARROGANT(SELFISH) AND LACKED RESPECT AND DIGNITY. But not towards Adam, but to ALL the others. This is what made millions very upset. Replacing Simon IS the good thing, bringing in Tyler is a mistake.

  83. Jen says:

Problem with Kara is not that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about, because she definitely does. It’s her personality… and nothing can be done about that. She comes over as arrogant and loves to hear her own voice; which is not very different to the way Simon Cowell is, but it doesn’t go over well with her. I don’t personally know anyone who doesn’t find her REALLY annoying!

I’m sure she’ll do ok post-Idol if she tones it down a notch.

And they should bring Paula back! Ditsy or not, most people love her, especially the contestants. Bringing her back will help the ratings for sure!

And finally, one of the reasons the ratings fell last season, besides Paula leaving, is because Adam didn’t win and his manic and very vocal fans (and he has a LOT of those) still can’t get over the fact that their God isn’t worshipped by everyone under the sun; which is f-ing ridiculous!

  84. Fcapps says:

The show “jumped the shark” with the addition of Ellen Degeneris..American Idol is over..it’s not about the judges..Remember “Millionaire” with Regis? how popular it was the first couple of seasons? then nobody cared..nothing to do with Regis..same thing with Idol, which if it lasts much longer will see many more judges in the future..that’s all the show has left..controversy over the judges..it’s only a matter of time before they start hitting up muppets to guest judge…”Idol” isn’t so novel anymore..the airwaves are saturated with talent shows..”so u think u can dance” etc..I’m waiting for “So YOU think YOU can FART?” Now, there’s a show! Let it rip!
