Kara DioGuardiKARA DioGuardi didn’t know she was being fired from American Idol!

According to Kara’s father, a Republican U.S. Senate contender in New York, the songwriter is getting the silent treatment from Fox about her rumored axing from the show.

“Would you believe she did not hear — and still has not heard — anything?” Joe DioGuardi said on the New York TV show Capital Tonight.

“She read it the way you did and I did. Her disappointment is that that’s the way she’s being treated and she feels that’s not proper. I think they’re trying to create a lot of buzz … they’re trying to reformat the thing.

“But Kara has a very deep career in music … she’ll be fine. Would she want to do it another year? I think so … I think at some point [she] will confront them on that.”

As previously reported on ShowbizSpy.com, Kara was “shocked” when she found out that she’d been fired.

“Kara loved judging Idol,” a source said last month. “She’s horrified that she’s just being tossed aside like this.

“She understands the show is in need of a revamp, but Kara really thought she had a job for as long as she wanted it. She’s beside herself.”

    I’m glad that got rid of Kara – They should have never hired her in the first place. She broke up the great mix with Paula, Simon and Randy. And she has a mean look about her – Her eyes are mean, she has a mean looking mouth and she was second rate to Paula. That show would have gone on for five more years if they hadn’t hired her.

    The American Idol management has totally disrespected one of the finest talents and personalities in the business today. In my opinion she has more music talent, style and class than any of the judges that have served thusfar.

    For my part, if they fail to include her in the forthcoming season, they will lose me as a viewer. I am outraged… you just don’t treat people this way, in or out of the business.

    I’m glad Kara is leaving!! I never did like her. She alway seem to think she was Bigger than the show itself. There are so many better people that can do better and make the show fun again. Bye Kara………………….

    At least Kara gave some real constructive advise to the contestants and did not show up all drugged up like Paula did. Paula was an embarrasment to the show. However, there is probably more to this whole story than what us being made public.
