Katie Holmes: ‘Suri Designs Her Own Clothes’

The actress — who raises the tot with husband Tom Cruise — lets the 4-year-old pick out and craft her own outfits.

“I grew up the youngest of five, so there were a lot of hand-me-downs that I would sort of change up,” Holmes tells this week’s issue of New York magazine.

“And Suri and I do that now with her clothes. Or rather, she does it. She says, ‘I want this sleeve cut,’ and it’s like, ‘Okay, we’ll cut it.’ She picks out all of her own clothes and has since she was one-and-a-half.

“I started making clothes for Suri when she was born, designing dresses, and then having seamstresses sew them, because I don’t sew very well.

“As a child, I was always drawing clothes, and I’ve always loved fabrics, and when Suri was born, I wanted to have certain things be from me and created just by me for her.

“Tom and I went to the Met ball a couple of years ago, and I had this beautiful red gown and these royal-blue shoes that I wasn’t planning on wearing, but Suri made me put them on and so I was like, ‘Okay, I trust you.’”

    Oh, wow, her daughter has picked out her own clothes since she was 1, gee. I would be so proud. not. MY kids talk, do math, play instruments, read really well. That’s because they aren’t stupid scientologists. Geez, she wants her kid to be a freakin’ dimwit like her and her husband?

    What is wrong with this woman? She relies on her four year old for her fashion sense? Designing her own clothes at one and a half? I don’t think so. She might have been picking them out–maybe. I think Katie Holmes needs a psyche evaluation and counseling before she turns Suri into a very strange person and self-centered person. What is wrong with me that I read this rot?

    It seems not too long ago that there was a picture of Suri sucking on a bottle. She can design her own clothes, but cannot drink from a cup or glass? Katie is seriously out of touch with reality.

    Suew, she already wears high heels, is a designer, and next year for her fifth birhday, she’s moving into her first condo.These people have lost touch with reality.
