SOFIA Vergara is trying to cut back on the desserts in a bid to get into shape!

The Modern Family star, 38, says she wants to look her best for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards — especially as the hit TV sitcom has been nominated for 14 awards.

“I have to control [what I eat] now that I am going to get ready for the Emmys,” said Vergara, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

“When I really want to be good and control myself, I have lollipops in my handbag — instead of having a tiramisù, I have a boring lollipop.”

This year’s Primetime Emmy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on August 29.

Sofia recently hit out at singer Madonna for having too much plastic surgery.

“L.A. is crazy. The women all look the same now,” she said.

“That thing with the cheeks. Like Madonna. Who do they think they’re fooling? It doesn’t make them look young. You end up looking like a freak.”
