JENNIFER ANISTON NEEDS TO QUIT HOLLYWOOD! HER NEW MOVIE JUST BOMBED!

Jennifer AnistonJENNIFER Aniston makes a rubbish movie star!

The former Friends actress’ new film, The Switch, has bombed at the box office!

The flick — which also stars Jason Bateman — landed at eighth place in its debut weekend, grossing just $8.1 million, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The Switch was bested by Twilight spoof Vampires Suck (#2, $12.2 million) Bow Wow’s Lottery Ticket (#4 with $11 million) and Piranha 3-D (#6, $10 million). Sylvester Stallone‘s The Expendables took the top spot at $16.5 million, with Julia Roberts‘ Eat, Pray Love landing at #4 in its second week.

Aniston’s March action comedy Bounty Hunter fared better — the movie, which also starred Gerard Butler — grossed $20 million in its first weekend, and nearly $70 million overall.

Jen’s 2009 movie, Love Happens with Aaron Eckhart, grossed just $22.9 million in the US.

Her other 2009 offering, Management with Steve Zahn, grossed a pathetic $935,000.

So it looks like Brad Pitt‘s ex-wife should give up on the movies… which is what everyone was saying back in April!

“Aniston just can’t play the good friend anymore. She’s aged out, no matter the yoga and the highlights. She just can’t do America’s sweetheart next door. She needs a big wake-up call,” one film critic who didn’t want to be named said earlier this year.

“And as for her taste in men, it’s totally off. John Mayer? Gerard Butler? She’s missing a common-sense gene.

“It’s hard for any TV stars to make the transition to movies.

“Certainly no one else from Friends made it.”

    Jennifer seems like a very classy girl that unfortunately hasnt had any luck in the love department. Once she finds someone who she can love, the roles should folow. I would divorce my second wife and college sweetheart for an opportunity with this girl. She keeps looking for the prefect guy and I’m not sure that fantasy exists long term.     Switch is a damn good movie. The acting in this film was superb. Too bad it didn’t make the most money. This is one of the best movies I have seen all year. Aniston will be around for a long time. Brad is history, except to those making money from keeping that competition alive. The vultures should circle around Alston Kutcher, Ben Stiller, and encourage them to go away. So should ShowbizSpy. Quit sucking up to movies that the majority flock to see. Be non bais in your critiques. That’s good journalism. Your writing stinks, you should get off the internet.

    I haven’t seen this movie yet, but I really want to. Jennifer Aniston is a great actress and I don’t see why everyone wants to always compare her to Angelina Jolie (who I just don’t like and never have liked acting wise). But I guess that is just how Hollywood goes, always pitting certian stars against each other despite them being completely different. I would love to see Jen do a thriller or action movie because I know she can do it and would be fantastic, but I love her in the romantic comedy movies too. Give the girl a break because she apparently has enough self esteem and belief in herself to continue through despite being put down by people.

    My husband and I both enjoyed “The Switch” and thought Jennifer and Jason were convincing characters and fun to watch.

    As I recall, Jennifer received critical acclaim for her role in “The Good Girl.” She has taken on different roles (remember “Derailed”?), but I like her best in romantic comedies.

Rachael was good TV character but it is time to let her go. Jennifer needs to eliminate every ounce of Rachael from her acting bag of tricks and then she will be free to create totally a new character.
    She has the talent to do this; she just has to believe in her creative ability to steer her safely into a new different direction. Risky? Yes! But, in my view, it is worth the risk!

    Lets compare apples to apples. First of all the Switch was only at a little over 2000 theatres compared to others being at almost 4000. The Switch actually came in 3rd if you compare the actual theatre count. The budget was only around 16 million. So it seems to me people like to count her out awfully quickly. I actually saw the movie and enjoyed it alot. Great story. Jason Bateman was great.
