CHRISTINA Applegate wants the best of best of both worlds!

The actress — who’s pregnant with her first child — says she hopes to be a mom who can be very hands off and very hands off.

“I’ll probably be a little bit hippie and a little bit Type A,” Applegate told People magazine at the Los Angeles premiere of new movie Going The Distance.

“I’ll take from what my mother did, which was way hippie and like ‘Do what you wanna do,’ and bring some things that I know from watching my friends raise their kids. An amalgamation of sorts.”

Applegate says she’s having trouble designing the nursery because she doesn’t know the baby’s sex!

“It’s gender neutral because we don’t know [if it's a boy or girl],” she says. “I’m trying. It’s becoming a bigger project than it was supposed to be, unfortunately.”

Applegate recently admitted her pregnancy is making her “a little cuckoo”.

“Everything you read in the baby books, I’ve got. The cravings, the morning sickness, the psychosis,” she said last month.

“You kind of go a little cuckoo. Yelling for no reason, that kind of thing.

“It’s almost like you’re stepping outside of yourself and you see this insane monster. And you want to stop her but she’s also kinda funny to watch.”
