SUSAN BOYLE CAN’T WAIT TO PERFORM FOR THE POPE!

Susan BoyleSUSAN Boyle says performing for the Pope is a “dream come true”.

The 49-year-old singer — who is a devout Catholic — is ecstatic at being asked to sing for Pope Benedict XVI in an open-air ceremony in Glasgow when he visits the city next month.

“To be able to sing for the Pope is a great honour and something I’ve always dreamed of – it’s indescribable,” she said.

“I think the 16th of September will stand out in my memory as something I’ve always wanted to do, I’ve always wanted to sing for his Holiness and I can’t really put into words my happiness, that this wish has come true at last.”

Susan will sing her best known song I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables as well as perform with an 800-strong choir while the Pope performs mass.

She also admitted she was “humbled” by the opportunity to perform.

“The Pope’s visit is a very big event for Scottish Catholics. My own faith is the backbone of my life, I pray and say the rosary each day and am very close to my religion,” she said.

“I am humbled and honored by this invitation and I hope I can do my best.”

I can’t even begin to imagine the happiness you are feeling now. I am so excited to find out what you’ll sing and if it’s more than one song or what. Wow!
