PAUL HOGAN BANNED FROM LEAVING AUSTRALIA OVER UNPAID TAX BILL

Paul HoganPAUL Hogan has been banned from leaving Australia.

According to RadarOnline, the Crocodile Dundee star — who lives in Los Angeles with his American wife, Linda Kozlowski, and their 12-year-old son, Chance — returned to Sydney for the funeral of his 101-year-old mother last Friday.

But when he went to leave his native country, Hogan was prevented from boarding a flight because of a prohibition order from the local taxman.

He is now virtually a prisoner in Australia until he pays a multi-million-dollar tax bill.

The Australian tax office served Hogan with a bill last month for tax on $37.6 million of undeclared income.

Hogan’s lawyer, Andrew Robinson, said the actor was “stunned and very disappointed” that his own Government could treat him as a flight risk.

“The process of detaining Paul in Australia, away from his wife and child in Los Angeles, has devastated Paul,” Robinson said.

“He will continue to defend his position through all available legal and other channels.”

    We need to go back to how it was pre 1936 or so, where the primary taxes were sales tax, and the government learned to operate on that amount. It was considered ridiculous that the governmnet deserved any money from your earnings.

    Give me a break let him come hom….How much money do they need to run the country…I sure won’t be traveling there forget it……I’ve canceled my months vacation…Of course that’s probably not enough money for them anyway…..Unbeilvable..

    And I thought US and New York were tough…at least we don’t get held hostage for it. They give us a bill and we work until we die to pay it off. We lose property, as well as money, but rarely freedom. He must have been cheating on this for a really long time.

    I am disappointed in the Australian government! His movies brought the bug to visit Oz to so many that they should be paying him! I always dreamed of visiting Oz, not anymore. The Aussie government sucks!

    Sorry but my thinking is if it was me or you they would have done the same thing, except most of us will never ever make 37 million in our life time let alone owe that on taxes. He should be arrested and have to post bond.

    Hogan has no one to blame but himself. If he had paid his taxes like he should have in the first place, he would not be sitting in jail right now. He only made things worse for himself a few months ago when he basically thumbed his nose at the Australian gov’t and said “you want me, come and get me” when he found out that he owed the money. Just another celebrity who thinks they are above the law. Speaking of which, why the heck isn’t Wesley Snipes in jail for tax evasion?

    The U. S. Gov’t did the same thing to The Brown Bomber, Joe Louis. They kept adding penalties and late charges, even though the guy sold millions in war bonds during WWII. For almost thirty years, the IRS hounded him until he spent his “golden” schilling for casinos in Las Vegas in order to survive. Good Luck Paul. You are one of my favorite actors.
