Brad Pitt to Star in Red Dead Redemption Movie?

Brad PittBRAD Pitt is planning to make a movie version of video game hit Red Dead Redemption.

Sources say the Hollywood heartthrob is the hot favorite to play renegade outlaw John Marston in an epic cowboy shoot-em-up based on the PlayStation game.

“This is an exciting project with a great character at the center of it,” a source said.

“The idea is to make this in the style of an epic Western movie but with a few modern touches.

“Brad is perfect for the role and he is being given first refusal.”

    Red Dead Redemption is also available for the Xbox 360, I should know since I have it. Not just PlayStation, research about the game before you claim it’s sole console.

    Hey Mike, you are honestly a retard. They are both pretty much the same, unless you have autism or some other basement dwelling self proclaimed disease and you notice something completely irrelevant like frames per second or a missing polygon in this or that specific location. Both consoles are great and I just guess you’re too poor to own both like a real man.

    Come on guys. A really cool game is going main stream, offering additional revenue to the publishers via royalties which they can re-invest to continue making great games.

    Lets not scare all the good people away with your console flaming. Yes – both of you are right (it is not an exclusive and technically it does run better on the 360), but you are missing the point here.

    We should be happy that this is happening. Rather pray that the movie isn’t a totally screw up that fails to convey the story (which is the same on both consoles, the movie will after all be a passive experience).

    Here’s hoping the director is not a n00b ;)

    Its unlikely this movie will be made, but if it is, and he does accept the role it would be a good thing. Snatch, Burn After Reading, Inglorious Basterds, Fight Club, Twelve Monkey’s, etc. He’s played a wide variety of roles some of which being polar opposites. If anyone can handle the role, he’s on the list of who can. Lets just hope the rest of the movie doesn’t suck.

    I agree with the Hugh Jackman choice or what about Johnny Depp??? Both would better suited methinks. Brad’s too much of a pretty boy – not exactly the “rugged” type. Here’s hoping if the Director is a good one, the film will be good and not cheesy!

    You are exactly right! Clint Eastwood would be amazing as John Marston. As for Johnny Depp, he would probably make the role a little more comical than it needs to be. Don’t get me wrong, Mr. Depp is a wonderful actor but I wouldn’t be able to take him seriously as a cowboy. I don’t want Brad Pitt to be Marston but I think he would be better than Hugh Jackman.

    When I played the game I somehow imagined Russell Crowe as John Marston… I think they bear some resemblance both in looks and way to talk. Of corse, Crowe would have to work on a western accent but I think he could manage.

    Reading these comments, it’s apparent that none of you have seen The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Amazing movie, and it PROVES, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Pitt would make an amazing John Marston.
