JENNIFER Aniston and John Mayer haven’t rekindled their romance — despite recent reports to the contrary.

The rumor mill went into overdrive earlier this week when Mayer said he believes in “second chances” while performing in front of 18,000 fans at the Hollywood Bowl.

But sources close to Aniston insist she isn’t back with Mayer.

“John is still friends with Jen, but they are not dating again,” an insider told Us Weekly magazine.

“She was not at the Hollywood Bowl show he played, but it would not mean anything if she were. They remain friends but are definitely not back together.”

Recent reports claimed Jen– whose new movie, The Switch, bombed at the box office — is planning to step away from the big screen for a while.

“Jen is by no means about to quit movies but she is open to the idea of going back to TV and a sitcom,” said a source close to the star.

“Some of the best scripts around are for TV now and Jen is excited at the prospect of a new chapter. She’s also talking to Courteney Cox about a possible project with her.”
