ELIN NORDEGREN TO BECOME A CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST

The former Swedish model — who recently finalized her divorce from the sex-crazed golfer — wants to devote her life to helping children scarred by a ­marriage meltdown after her family was torn apart by Tiger’s numerous affairs.

Elin enrolled on a three-year degree course at Rollins College near Orlando five months ago.

“Elin wants to help children. She is the child of divorced parents and, ­having seen her own marriage end through no fault of her own, she is very aware of what that can do to kids,” a source said.

“Elin is very focused on getting her degree. It has given her something to strive for while her marriage ended.

“She is very compassionate and would make a great psychologist.

“She does not just want to be known as the ex-Mrs Woods.”

Nordegren recently insisted she’s feeling “stronger” than ever now she’s a single lady.

“I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children,” she said.

“I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself.

“My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal.”

        I agree with Randy, and people are losing sight of things. Remember that this couple was not put together by a romantic love that is prompted by being seduced by the appearance or ways of the other party. They were rather bound by a contract according to which the woman should be paid USD 20 million after ten years (see http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/editorials/articles/2009/12/05/tiger_woods_a_peculiar_marriage_contract/). Where is love in this? Nowhere at all!!! I would warn my sister before hand if she gets married like this. Then, let’s understand both sides: on one hand, Elin can be commended to have respected the contract by devoting herself to the family affairs – but that was her obligation, nothing special because a contract is a contract. Was she going to be seduced if Tiger was unemployed or working for just a monthly modest living? Be serious and honest in replying to this question. On the other hand, the man understandably thought he was not naturally/genuinely/simply loved although he was very rich. I would think the same. Therefore, he simply paid the money to get any woman as he did it for Elin. The only difference is that he could not live in two marriages at the same time. He was traumatized; he never knew true/genuine/simple love. He has broken the contract (not love) but anybody who can analyse things positively can understand him.
        If Elin really loved Tiger, she should understand the above and notice that she had a big part in flawing their relationships when she got married over a money-contract rather than over romantically falling in love out of nothing but simply loving the guy. Yes, she should understand her part and stay courageous and tell Tiger: sorry, I understand you, there is no money-based love, let’s tear the money contract union, and I am ready to love you just for you. I assure you, Tiger would love this and he would be faithful forever. On his part, he has apologised more than enough. Girls and women, learn a lesson from this. Men, you will never be satisfied neither be faithful as long as you are paying to get a beauty. Marriage councillors, see where you need to focus well when doing your job. Being a victim of unfaithfulness does not mean that the victim is simply innocent. Look at the understandable motives of the offender, and bring both parties to reason. You can unite them again if you put your efforts together.

      Your remarks suggest that you obviously have serious women hate issues. Tiger’s many, many, tawdry affairs made it impossible for ELIN to stay married to him and still maintain her self esteem.         It’s common knowledge that Tiger persued Elin for a long time before she even agreed to date him. He was quite smitten by her at the time and it took awhile for her to warm up to him. And after marriage, obviously she did not know, until last Thanksgiving, that he had a compulsion to have relations with lots of women and that he could not remain monogamous.

        There’s nothing wrong with a pre-nuptual legal agreement. Both parties in a marriage can benefit from it, just in case the marriage fails – as it did for Tiger and Elin.

    When infidelity happens you cannot just blame one person, I believe both spouses has a hand in it. But I admire Hilary Clinton’s handling of the situation (also Jackie Onassis). She was very generous and heartfelt in her forgiveness because she recognizes that humans make mistakes (to err is human to forgive is divine) and in being generous the children were happy, they survived the trauma and stigma brought about by these kinds of errors made by finite minded humans. She was not thinking of herself but only of others. Why shld Sam & Chris suffer unnecessarily if it is in the power of their mom to make them happy in a united family w/both father and mother in the original. How can we subject them to having to adjust to a different dad. To think only of yourself is being selfish but to think of your children and their future is generous, giving, forgiving. You’ve already had your chance, your time, your experiences as a young child and you more or less knew what/how it felt to be part of a dysfunctional family. No amount of repairing after the divorce can compare to a whole and united family. As far as repairing the situation was concerned Elin had the opportunity because Tiger stayed by her side instead of going to the other woman and that in itself is a statement to the world that she is more precious than anybody else and that shld lift her up onto a pedestal all her own (if she valued her marriage and if she went into the marriage looking to make it last forever.) I’m an old woman and I have been married more than 50 years. As far as I’m concerned as long as my husband stays by my side and thinks I’m precious in his sight, treats me as such and wants to stay with me especially because of the children I have no reason not to forgive. As far as I’m concerned a woman has the power to make a family whole.As for me people makes mistakes and to make the kids shoulder the burden and make them suffer for it their whole life as if it is their fault not generous and compassionate. I know thru the papers what Tiger went thru and how willing he was to repair the brokenness of his family but he cannot do it alone. It is up to the woman. Because the man is at fault the woman has to stand in the gap and prevent the crumbling down of the rock of

    Again I admire Hilary Clinton. She made the right decision. Look at her family now that Chelsea has married her man. I’m sure she will be a success like her mom and be not a failure.

When there is no chance for trust, when you have been betrayed because you are pregnant, and staying home to be with two kids under 3 years of age, when you give it great thought and effort through good faith counseling, you leave if that is your decision. You go forward with your life in a new direction and that takes courage and self respect. I admire Elin, for taking her time to get to know Tiger, marry because of love.     There is a very good reason not to stay with a spouse who cheats, and that is the risk of contracting HIV, the virus that leads to AIDS. When Tiger cheated with so many woman, he put his wife and children at risk, showing very little regard for their lives or health. Elin could have contracted HIV from him, and then passed it onto their unborn children. That is what would do it for me, especially if I had doubts as to whether or not my spouse could be faithful in the future. Yes, marriage is a contract, but it is based on a covenant relationship. The sign of that covenant is sexual faithfulness. Tiger broke the marriage covenant long before Elin decided to divorce him.
