Barack ObamaPRESIDENT Barack Obama and his glamorous wife Michelle are living a life of luxury at the taxpayers’ expense, according to a bombshell new report.

American tabloid the National Enquirer says Barack has spent a fortune on parties, vacations and expensive designer clothes.

“It’s outrageous Obama and his family are spending money like water when the rest of America is frantically tightening their belts in a desperate bid not to drown in their financial woes,” said one political insider.

“How can he pull this kind of stunt during what amounts to a modern day depression?

“Obama and his wife are acting like greedy, self-serving politicians, living like a king and queen on our dime. They should be sharing our misery, not spending money like it’s going out of style.

“The Obamas seem to be totally out of touch with the American people. It’s a scandal!”

Recent reports claimed Michelle blew $500k on a European “vacation” to get Barack back for inviting Oprah Winfrey to his Chicago birthday bash.

“With the American economy in shambles, Michelle took off on a lavish holiday all because she was angry that Barack had invited Oprah to his private 49th birthday party,” a source said at the time.

“Michelle decided to punish Barack, so she bought expensive clothing and designer dresses plus jewelry while staying in a luxury resort — not realizing how the public would react back home. Her selfish spending spree really backfired!

“Michelle also bought an expensive necklace and bracelet in Marbella.

“While she wanted to make a side trip to the millionaire’s playground of Ibiza, she had a personal shopper bring designer gowns and clothing, swimsuits and other trinkets to her instead.

“Michelle is furious that Barack went behind her back and invited Oprah.

“But he’s well aware that Oprah helped his campaign immensely by endorsing him for president, and he knows that he’s going to need her again.

“He hates having Michelle mad at him, but he needs Oprah — on his side.”

    I am living month to month on a limited income because i had a stroke in my early 20′s. Is it my fault that the stroke affected my memory, still to this day, i am now 45 years old and my life is pay my bills and the government gives me and my husband $16 a month in food stamps. I am outraged that in January, i got a letter saying i wasn’t going to get a raise in my SSI because there wasn’t a raise in the economy. PLEASE! The president and his wife need to live a month of my life!

I wonder if any of you simpletons out there even know anyone who has had a stroke and what it does to them. I am amazed that no one could even understand what she was saying. Did she blame the president for her stroke? No! Did she even say she was writing what she was writing on her own computer with her own internet connection? No! There are places where one can access the internet for free lie the local public library. Yet you group of inhumane troglodytes would much rather attack a poor girl then a president who does not possess the empathy or candor to refrain from an outlandish lifestyle while much of the country suffers. That was the point of the what she as writing. I feel sorry for you hate mongers out there. All things come around eventually.

      Sorry about your situation, but you have to realize there are a number of people who are in a better situation and in worst situations. As what a previous poster said, Obama did not give you a stroke. Plus if you are so broke how can you afford a computer and internet? The cheapest internet service runs about $15/month. Get rid of it and it adds an additional $15 for food. It is called PRIORITIES!!!

A surplus is when the IRS STEALS more money from you than the government needs! So what Clinton did was to a take a little MORE of YOUR money, and never gave you your usual refund(if you usually PAID instead of getting a refund each year). Do you understand what I am saying? In a government, a surplus is not necessarily a GOOD thing, for that is money that is sitting in the US treasury, earning interest for the government, when it could be earning interest in YOUR treasury.

Strokes are caused by people who don’t take care of their bodies and who consume too much alcohol or a whole bunch of JUNK food. I did not even read the message about which you are commenting and I can tell you are somewhat misinformed. Strokes have much to do with blood pressure and diabetes which are both genetic. Unfortunately, my husband comes from a family with a genetic prevalence for these health problems. Even with medication, exercise and a careful diet, his blood pressure is much higher than the average person’s and it is possible, even likely, that he will have a stroke someday. Doctors still don’t understand why it is so, but they know that blood pressure is primarily dependent on genetics!

Clinton had a surplus because he reduced our milatary to mothing do you remember the troups that first went to Iraq did not have the proper equipment. Bush took the over 8% unemployment when he took office down to 5% until the democrats gained control of congress and it went back to near 8%. The deficate has tripled since Oboma took office and unemployment is at neat 20% real numbers.

    I do know this, a president’s salary isn’t that much. He may have made some money writing some books. He may have made some money as a law professor, he may have made a few million dollars last year. But is it right to stay at expensive hotels where your guests and secret servicre agents must spend a thousand dollars per night at tax payer expense to stay there? We’ve got one of the worst economies since the great depressiom and new tax laws that are going to take more of our disposable income and give it to the government. If anything, this article is a testament to the fact that the more money the politicians take from us to fund their expensive trips, the less money each individual has, and therefore freedom he has, to take nice vacations like the ones described in this article. It’s a lesson in hypocrisy and being able to recognize it when one sees it. Unfortunately, most of you commenting here aren’t able to see it…and probably don’t pay taxes either.       Good point. The Enquirer broke the John Edwards affair while MSM tried to bury it. Even after it was varified, the NY Times (which ran three page 1 stories about Bristol Palin’s pregnancy on page 1 on the same day) buried the story.

      It seems impossible that the National Enquirer could be more credible than MSM, but as biased and dishonest as MSM is these days, it likely is.

Amongst many things that were wrong during Bush’s era, the housing market got screwed up during his time in office……and it was before he left that the housing market and every other market for that matter began to fall.
    The other thing is, the President and First Lady are entitled to a vacation. The fact that they are the US first family “requires” variables(security measures etc.) that are just the nature of the beast of being in office. Also, truth be told, this position in office does have its perks……and I’d be willing to bet that their annual vacation budget is probably no more, if not less than any other presidential family that preceeded them in office.

      Notice those last two are “works in progress.” These are things Obama is trying to do but the Republicans are doing everything they can stop him from being successful on these fronts (similar to how they pulled out every trick in the book to try to stop health care reform.) They don’t seem to care that stopping Obama from getting “political victories” (their biggest concern it seems) may lead to a terrorist nuking a major US city or another economic meltdown.
      Think about that. “Country First”? Hardly. The Republican Party of today seems to exist only to further it’s own existence. They will stop at nothing to defeat Obama politically. They don’t care how many lies they have to tell or what the long term consequences are for average Americans.

The woman decided she needed to get away and Michelle decided to tag along! She paid for the trip herself although the secret service portion was paid with government money. This is NO DIFFERENT than any other first lady traveling – from Nancy Reagan to the Bush wives!

    It cost taxpayers over 17 million dollars just to pay for the operating costs of Air Force One to get Bush back and forth to Crawford 77 times. Laura took THREE lavish, super expensive trips to Africa by herself, one of those with a daughter, each time they flew back and forth over the continent many times costing easily millions more in operating costs of Air Force Two and carting her staff with her. You can easily put the cost just to get the Bushies to their vacation destinations at 30 million, 77 trips to Crawford, 149 trips to camp David, 8 or ten to Maine, on, and on and on. Google it. Air Force One operating costs. 56,000 dollars an hour I believe. The Obamas are frugal in comparison and to this point in his first term Bush had over 100 vacation days, Obama is currently at around 45. You don’t see him posing at some fake 10,000 square foot ranch like a fool. No more showboating. No more Bush/Cheney freakshow.

    I agree with aamoor,The Obama’s had their own money prior to coming to the White House. They didn’t appear to note that fact. Or how they know for sure how she paid for their claims. It seems to me that the paper just wanted to sell a story. How do they know if Michele is upset with her husband? Or how she feels about Oprah. It’s no one’s business. The fact that they are our President and First lady really saddens me that a paper would be so hard up for money themselves to publish such trash.
    I think the President inherited a mess to clean up. It will take far more than him to do it. He needs the support of the house and senate. With all the pressure that may be on the both of them, I hope they find pleasure as well. Time to relax and unwind. Take few vacations. It is important for not only their physical and emotional health, but for their family as well.

But one thing we must all keep in mind is this: the President of the United States is but ONE man. He alone does NOT run the country. There’s this little thing called Congress in Washington D.C. Perhaps you’ve heard of it? It’s composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate. These people are the ones who hold the true power in Washington. If the President wants something passed, and Congress disagrees with it, it WILL NOT PASS. But, if Congress wants something passed, and the President disagrees, he can veto it, and Congress can overrule his veto with the proper vote, and it STILL PASSES. The President can push for something he wants as hard as he likes, but if the majority of Congress disagrees, nothing ever comes of it. So the President alone is not to blame; that blame is shouldered by Congress as well.

That is just an excuse for them not to do what is right and just. They should be honored to pay tax. It is this great country and the average working American people who made them rich in the first place. They are supposed to pay tax and should gladly pay more tax as should all of us. Look what is happening in California. They did not want to pay tax now their state is bankrupt. But I also say to the politicians the people should be asking for an audit each and every year to see where and how the money is being spent. And how much money is being wasted.     Once this is done you can start to repair this country, it has nothing to do with color, this country is for all American’s and Legal Americans to enjoy and prosper.

    Next we need to clean this country out, yes clean house again. Get rid of ALL races, that do not belong here LEGALLY.. That’s the word LEGALLY…. Take care of our Leagal citizens, in our country. Put all other’s OUT, NOW!
    Children born in American with illegal parents, need to be put out of this country, and just because their parents came here illegally, that should make all children illegal.. The National Enquire is known for creating scandals for sales. Notice at the beginning of the story it says that Michelle and Barack are living a life of luxury at tax payers expense. Then later it says that Michelle blew $500,000 on a vacation to get back at Barack for inviting Oprah Wrinfrey to his birthday party. Now ask yourself, does that make sense? How is spending tax payer money getting back at Barack? It would make sense if it was his personal funds that she was spending. Now some people may say that it makes sense because spending tax payer money makes him look bad politically. But notice that the article doesn’t say that. It says that Michelle decided to punish Barack, so she bought expensive clothing and designer dresses plus jewelry- NOT REALIZING HOW THE PUBLIC WOULD REACT BACK HOME. Clinton had common sense and went to the middle after elected. He listened to the people. Obama does what he wants, makes it up as he goes along and has bypassed our Constitution repeatedly. He has not put up bills for review and debate. He went against what the people said about Obama-care (pay off to his insurance cronies) and did as he pleased. He is not a man of the people. He represents unions, people of color and far left interest groups.

    His friends advocated loans to people who should not have been given a credit card let alone a house loan. HE BANKRUPTED America so that a crisis could be created for the take over. As his adviser Rahm Emmanual said, “never let a good crisis be wasted”. Next to happen will be bombs in every city and Obama will shut down the net for our “security sake”. A monster is in the White House grabbing as much power as he can. He did not become President to serve anyone but himself and his ego.

Taking the trash tabloids out of it, the First Lady did redesign the oval office with taxpayer money, she has taken trips on the taxpayer’s dime. But, one must look at all the vacation time other presidents and their families took at our expense. The way to alleviate this is for Congress to regulate the presidential personal spending to what he is paid. That is fair and equitable.
