ELTON John has given the middle finger to producers of American Idol!

Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe says he’d love to get the Rocket Man singer behind the judges’ table for the show’s upcoming season.

“I must say, I really do love Elton John. He’s a huge favorite of mine,” Nigel said. “But his packed schedule is always the problem.”

Sources say Elton has always been the first choice to replace Simon Cowell on the show.

But Elton isn’t interested!

His UK publicist, Gary Farrow, said, “there’s more chance of me fucking you than Elton being on U.S. Idol.”

For crying out loud, ELTON DOES NOT WANT TO DO AMERICAN IDOL. Accept it, and leave the man alone. He would also be nothing but a Poor Man’s Simon, so I don’t know why they are pursuing him so hard. It takes MUCH more than a British accent. It takes being one Mr. Simon Philip Cowell, and if you can’t have him anymore, fold up shop.

Personally, I think that first Paula, then Simon, saw the writing on the wall: THE END IS NEAR FOR AMERICAN IDOL. Like rats from a sinking ship they jumped overboard. They each made their money, and finally realized that American Idol was wearing out its welcome. So they each went to greener pastures. Good luck to both of them.
