CATHERINE ZETA-JONES FURIOUS WITH MICHAEL DOUGLAS’ DOCTORS!

Catherine Zeta JonesCATHERINE Zeta-Jones was “furious” doctors failed to spot her husband’s throat cancer.

The 40-year-old actress has spoken out about her frustration after Michael Douglas’ repeated complaints of throat and ear pain did not lead to a walnut-sized tumor being discovered at the base of his tongue until three weeks ago.

“It makes me furious they didn’t detect it earlier,” she said. “He sought every option and nothing was found.”

However, the brunette beauty == who has 10-year-old son Dylan and seven-year-old daughter Carys with the actor — admits she was unsurprised when he was finally diagnosed with cancer.

“It wasn’t a huge shock,” she said. “I knew something was up. He knew something was up.”

The Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps star — who also has 31-year-old son Cameron with ex-wife Diandra — admitted earlier this week he had been having throat problems for a long time before his diagnosis.

“It had been bothering me for a while,” he said. “I went through a litany of doctors and tests.”

However, he was understanding about the length of time doctors took to discover his condition.

“These things sometimes just don’t show up,” he said.

The 65-year-old star — who is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment — has previously revealed he has an 80 per cent chance of surviving cancer.

      Leyla – You don’t “wash away” a tumor with hydrogen peroxide. And – you could not POSSIBLY know that your cousin had the same tumor as Mr. Douglas. There are MANY kinds of tumors that can show up in that same location. If it was that simple to get rid of the tumor, I’m sure they would have tried the hydrogen peroxide first. 26 years as a nurse and I’ve never seen cancer resolved with hydrogen peroxide alone.

    Your positive attitude is the best way to deal with this. My prayers are with you and your family. I lost my father to lung cancer 13 years ago but unlike yours, it was to far advance when it was discovered. Yours is at a treatable stage at a high percent of recovery.     Yes, it is frustrating that they took so long to find the cancer but you are still very lucky. At least you and your family have great health insurance and plenty of money so that you can go to as many doctors as it takes. Imagine the rest of us who could not afford all those visits and had to give up on our search to find out what was wrong until it was way too late. Use this anger you have to help people in need of cancer screenings!

    I too had a missed tumor. After 35 radiation treatments and 10 weeks of chemotherapy, the tumor finally showed up on an X – Ray to be in the throat and required the removal of the voice box along with a large tumor. After 9 months of not being able to eat solid foods I am now starting to get back to normal. Just be patient and keep up the good spirits. If I made it, you can too. Good luck.

    my older bother got cancer when he turned 60 from agent orange he was a medic on medivac helicopters in vietnam and he’s been in remission for about three years now so its not a death sentence and he use to call me all the time for advice about the veterans administration also that he never remembered a time when he may have come in contact with agent orange and figured i would get it if anybody got it because i was a ground medic in vietnam and slept out in the jungle and they use to spay the stuff at night or so we were told but im 59 so i may also be looking at cancer also but if it happens ill deal with it just like i do everything else really what else can you do but keep a positive attitude so good luck with your battle i have a feeling you’ll do just fine

      Someone call Guinness! Gary, that has to be the longest run-on sentence in the history of the world – and still no period at the end. But, you are right – a positive attitude is essential.

        Merri B why would you be judging someone’s punctuation, grammar, or spelling on dealing with such a serious matter! We should be more worried about Michael’s health and sending out prayers!!!!!!

    Michael,

    My youngest sister was diagnosed with Plasma cytoma when she was 46 yrs old. A very rare cancer that usually turns into multiple myaloma (incurable) but hers did not.(thank God) My other sister and I prayed to Padre Pio who is a very powerful saint and she was cured.

    Afyer 8 years it is back(unheard of) and radiation did not get rid of it and she is checked to make sure it doesn’t grow every 3 months.

    Keep the faith. It is the only thing we can always count on. God Bless you and your family.

    MICHAEL, YOU MOST CERTAINLY MUST HAVE YOUR FATHER’S GENES AND IF HE IS NEARLY A HUNDRED YEARS OLD NOW I DO PRAY YOU TOO ARE GOING TO LIVE AT LEAST AS LONG AS HIM!!! LOVE YOU
