The singer/actress has revealed the Spanish screen siren told her to keep making music and movies.

“It’s funny, I spoke to Penelope Cruz about whether I should choose movies or music,” Jennifer said.

“She said, ‘No! You do the movies, you do the music — everybody loves that about you.’

“I thought, you’re right, what am I thinking? It’s a lot to do both, it’s never been an easy road, but the truth is I never entertain that thought for more than two minutes.”

Meanwhile, Lopez — who’s reportedly close to finalizing a deal to join the American Idol judges’ panel — has revealed she no longer cares what people think of her.

“In your 20s you’re in this crazy cloud of life and you don’t know what you’re doing. When you get into your 40s, you have more of a sense of yourself,” she explained.

“I’m pleasing myself and the people that are important to me, as opposed to trying to please the whole world and I feel the best is yet to come.”
