Taylor Lautner Settles RV Lawsuit

Posted by Adam

Taylor LautnerTAYLOR Lautner reached a settlement with McMahon’s RV Friday after the California-based company failed to deliver a trailer to the set of Abduction by June 21.

The Twilight hunk will get a $40,000 settlement — which he’ll be donating to charity.

“McMahon’s RV has agreed to settle its dispute with Taylor Lautner. McMahon’s RV will pay $40,000 to Lautner, which Lautner will donate to The Lollipop Theater Network, a children’s charity with which he has a long-standing relationship,” Lautner’s attorney Robert Barta told Us Weekly magazine.

“The Lollipop Theater Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing movies currently in theaters to children confined to hospitals due to chronic or life-threatening illnesses. The Lollipop Theater Network works with hospitals nationwide, including the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas.”

Lautner, 18, sued McMahon’s RV, claiming “emotional distress”, breach of contract and fraud after his $300,000 Recreational Vehicle (RV) was not delivered on time. The company then challenged him to a push-up contest, which he refused.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART.NOW ALL OF YOU CREEPS WHO SAID BAD THINGS ABOUT HIM SHOULD APOLOGIZE, INCLUDING HIS SO CALLED FANS WHO TURNED AGAINST HIM. HE DOES HAVE A HEART OF GOLD AND GREAT ATTITUDE FOR SOMEONE HIS AGE. ANY GIRL WOULD BE VERY LUCKY TO GRAB HIM, SAME GOES FOR ROB PATTINSON. THEY ARE BOTH GOOD GUYS. THIS IS WHY WOMEN, GIRLS, OF EVERY AGE LOVE THEM SO MUCH BESIDES THE GOOD LOOKS, ETC.GUYS SHOULD LEARN A LOT FROM THESE TWO. A LOT OF TEENAGERS, AND ADULTS TOO, THINK OF ONLY THEMSELVES, THIS IS CLEARLY NOT TAYLOR. I KNEW HE WAS NOT GOING TO KEEP THE MONEY. I JUST HOPE THAT THE TRAILER IS SAFE FOR HIM TO USE AS HIS HOME.

True – but “emotional distress”??? Oh, puhleeeeez, – be a man! An RV isn’t delivered on time and he is emotionally scarred, distressed, and traumatized?? Not real manly, dude. BUT – hats off to you for supporting such a worthy cause. BTW – you may want to consider the trauma the children that your charity helps go through. And YOU have the NERVE to be “emotionally distressed” because your RV isn’t delivered spot on time?? Really?? Try imagining having cancer, a progressive neurological disease, or an organ failure. Makes your RV trauma seem pretty ridiculous, now doesn’t it??

Really Taylor, suing a RV business for not arriving on time for you? Emotionally distressed? I agree with Merri B, there are those out there loosing homes, jobs, family, health, finances…need I go on? This sounds like a spoiled child, I don’t care if he donated the $40k to a charity, he could have done that out of his own pocket and let the RV business keep the money to pay employees. Maybe someone will get laid off due to this temper tantrum. Makes me not want to see the next Twilight movie. Sheesh.

Sounds like you work for that crappy RV company Nancy. They said they were going to have it there on a certain Day and they didn’t I would have sued too. And if you didn’t work for them you would have too.

      • Merri B

Jane – I see what you mean but Nancy’s and my posts were more of a reaction to his “emotional distress” claim. I stand by my obviously sarcastic comments above. Nancy was just agreeing. Breach of Contract is Breach of contract. BUT – “emotional distress”?? – not very manly, and a temper tantrum puts it mildly. He’s a little too taken with himself. I wonder if he cried too. If that’s his most serious problem (his RV not being delivered on time), then he has no problems period.

  • Merri B

Also, Jane – How do you know it’s a “crappy” RV company?? They made a mistake. Gee, I guess they’re human. Of course you wouldn’t know anything about mistakes since you obviously have never made any, hmmm??? Also, the magnitude of the mistake has a lot to do with it. If it’s a huge egregious issue, then yes, you may have grounds for a suit. But to sue just to get your name in the press as some kind of victim, when the issue is mild, that can and should be settled out of court. A lawsuit should be a LAST resort, not a FIRST resort. Some people are SOOOOO sue happy, but the courts aren’t there to have their time wasted by someone who only wants publicity and to throw a tantrum. He should have tried to settle before he ran crying (remember – “emotional distress”) to his attorney.

JANE AND NANCY, THE “EMOTIONAL DISTRESS” IS A GENERAL TERM BY THE LAWYER, THEY USE THAT PHRASE FOR A LARGE MAJORITY OF CASES OF THIS TYPE. NO ONE KNOWS IF THOSE WORDS CAME FROM TAYLOR AND IF THEY DID THAT IS HIS BUSINESS. NO ONE KNOWS THE WHOLE STORY. I DO BELIEVE THAT TAYLOR DOES GIVE REGULARLY TO THIS CHARITY, POSSIBLY OTHERS. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT HE WAS CRYING. TAYLOR JUST WANTED A SAFE, COMFORTABLE PLACE TO CALL HOME WHILE HE WAS DOING HIS MOVIES, WHO WOULDN’T. I DON’T THINK THE RV WAS OVER THE TOP EXTRAVAGANT. I THINK HE HANDLED THE SITUTION AS WELL AS ANYONE ELSE, WITH OR WITHOUT MONEY. THE MONEY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, IT HAS TO DO WITH BEING RIPPED OFF.

      • Merri B

I see your point, but his behavior is still that of some kind of tantrum-throwing primadonna for publicity’s sake. I don’t think an RV is out of line either, but there is really no reason whatsoever that this could not have been settled without threats of lawsuits. He could have at least started with, “You are in breach of contract. What are you going to do to make this right?” If the dealer responded with, “absolutely nothing,” then yes, sue his butt off. But suing over a minor time issue?? come on, now.

SORRY, THAT LAST POST WAS FOR MERRI AND NANCY, NOT JANE.
