JENNIFER Lopez admits she used to think she’d “never” have children.
The singer — who raises twins Max and Emme with husband Marc Anthony — resigned herself to the idea of not starting a family.
“There was a point in my mid-thirties when my career was going great but when I thought about starting a family, I wondered, ‘Whoa, is this going to happen for me?’” she said.
“I’d always known I wanted to have kids but at that point I thought that maybe it was not meant to be, and so I just kind of resigned myself to the idea that my life was going to be about something else. And then, well, I got lucky and it happened. We already had a posse with Marc’s three children, so adding these two just broadened it out. I’m busier than I’ve ever been.
“Of course, the babies come first, but at the same time you want to do your work at the same level that you’ve always done it, if not better than that. I have so many balls up in the air, I feel like a juggler.”
Lopez recently revealed she gets career advice from her actress pal Penelope Cruz.
“It’s funny, I spoke to Penelope Cruz about whether I should choose movies or music,” she said.
“She said, ‘No! You do the movies, you do the music — everybody loves that about you.’
“I thought, you’re right, what am I thinking? It’s a lot to do both, it’s never been an easy road, but the truth is I never entertain that thought for more than two minutes.”
