Kanye West Denies Being Racist, Hating Taylor Swift

Kanye WestKANYE West has given his reaction to the 2009 Taylor Swift VMA debacle.

“I stress that the incident wasn’t about Taylor personally,” West, who famously interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video Award to declare Beyonce should have won, said in XXL magazine’s October 2010 issue, on stands next week.

“And it definitely wasn’t about race. Where I messed up is, at the end of the day, it’s your show, Taylor. It’s your show, MTV.

“The relationship with the public and with your fans is like the relationship with your girlfriend. How could I not, at a certain point, be like, ‘I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been at the awards show. I’m sorry.’ Not that I don’t deserve to get beat up or change who I am inside, to make sure that that doesn’t happen again.

“I knew I wasn’t in a great spot publicly after the incident, but I would just block it out and work as hard as possible and let my work be my saving grace. In a way, I had thrown a Molotov cocktail at my own career, and it gave me an opportunity, for the first time, to go away and find out who I was. Because I felt very alone.”

Swift will no doubt be delighted that West is using her name again!

As previously reported on ShowbizSpy.com, the Love Story hitmaker is furious the rapper keeps speaking about the VMAs incident as a way of keeping himself in the press.

“Taylor is furious that Kanye keeps discussing the VMAs incident,” a source said.

“She’s fed up of hearing about it and is disgusted that he has the cheek to use her name to promote his new album!

“Taylor has moved on from the incident and is hoping Kanye will — eventually — do the same.”

    Well, if she is so eager to put that incident behind her and move on, then, why did she have that video recording of the incident played before she performed?! Looks like she is doing the same thing as Kanye is doing. I have never liked Taylor because she protrays herself a little miss proper, but she seems to be a brat!!

    well i think taylor is such a brat who has no talent all her songs sound the same they have the same chord to tem and are about the same things i dont think she should have won the awards she did i think kanye west actually did her a favour she got recognised more i think what he did was done at the wrong time he could have voiced his opinion somewhere else but i think what he said was true not even about beyonce i thought other people had better videos than her. i dont thnik he should have got the amount of backlash he got he is a great artist and people should stop making death threats what he did was not tht bad that he should die that just said how people can turn on people like when they make a silly mistake

    Stella and wowzers I agree with both 100%. Oh prisca I do agree with you. About Kanye West what he did. He should have just walked away. And then voiced his opinion later on. But not on MTV.
    But I don’t watch MTV any more. Music Industry has lost its way. They don’t promote quality. Like back when Michael Jackson was alive. When he performed Billy Jean on the 25th Anniversary of Motown. He got the award through hardwork, dedication and etc. Because He worked at being who was at the time when he was alive.

    So MICHAEL JACKSON songs helped me out when my Mom and real dad were devorcing in my childhood. Death of my grandparents and many other relatives in my life.

    But Taylor Swift is still young and inexperienced in the music industry. She has alot of growing up to do. Only time will tell and history.
    For me I’m just a observer(A Third Party). Looking at these new singers that are just coming into the music industry. We’ll see what happens.
