DEMI Lovato plays it safe when it comes to dating — because she’s hard her heart “broken” by an ex-boyfriend.

The teen star — who split from Jonas Brothers rocker Joe Jonas earlier this year — admits she’s scared of getting hurt.

“My big fear is falling for someone that you love more than they love you,” she said.

“Boys are so easy to fall in love with and they break your heart!

“That’s what happened to me last year, I got my heart broken by a guy.

“I was in South America working and was devastated for a week — like crying my eyes out. I even cried on stage.

“I tried getting back together with him even though he really hurt me, but in the end we both knew it was over as it just wasn’t working.”

Demi recently revealed that she was called “fat” and “promiscuous” when she was just 12-years-old.

“I know first hand what it’s like to be called names and to be affected by things,” she said.

“They would call me fat, they would call me promiscuous in different words. At the time, when I was 12-years-old, that was like the end of the world.

“To me, bullying is one of my biggest platforms. Let’s change the world.”
