Robert Downey Jr.ROBERT Downey Jr. has been struck down with a mystery illness.

The Hollywood hunk apparently hasn’t shown up to the London, England, set of Guy Ritchie‘s Sherlock Holmes sequel — in which the Iron Man 2 star plays the titular character — because he’s feeling under the weather.

“Everyone was fired up and ready to go,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

“Word filtered around that Robert had a bit of a sniffle and wouldn’t be coming in. It was a bit of a shock.”

Meanwhile, the 45-year-old actor — who already has a 16-year-old son from a previous relationship — has reportedly been telling pals he wants to start a family with his sexy wife, film producer Susan Levin.

Rob married Susan in 2005 and has credited her for helping him rebuild his career after years of drug addiction.

“Robert has nearly nine years of sobriety under his belt, and his professional life is going great guns,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“Susan’s never pressured him about having kids. But Robert brought it up first, and she’s thrilled. Susan is 36 and wants to have a family.

“They are both ready, willing and able.”

Robert recently admitted he’s amazed at how “fantastic” married life is.

“I don’t joke when I say she is my better half,” he gushed. “She truly is.

“I cannot believe what a fantastic life I have today. But here’s the thing, she didn’t change me at all. She just gave me an ultimatum at a certain point.

“Ultimately, we both changed a lot so that now I can’t ever imagine a life before her. I’ve certainly come to believe that Mrs. Downey and I together are definitely better than me alone or me and anybody else.”

Just what we need: another worthless hollywood joo in the world. God forbid these two should have kids!

    • Angela

You have no life, my friend. lol

    • Molly

      Better him than you, Rachel.

    • Jason

Way to go Rachel, you bigot. The word would be better with less people such as yourself.

    • Esther

You are one truly stupid ass. BTW did you know YOU have a”joo” name?

    • skipper

Rachel–first of all your ignorance is obvious!! Learn how to spell. Also, I hope that you never have children to continue your ignorant bigotry, and if you do may they all marry a “joo”. You should only hope that you do as well as this fine couple, I would bet you don’t–people as dumb as you don’t usually do so well in their lives. I bet you watch NASCAR!!!LOL!!!

    • Laura

Too bad you’re not stricken with a mystery illness – oh yeah, that’s right, you already have one – dumbassitis!

    • Sparrowsweetie

I cannot believe someone actually said this. But, I guess someone did! No I would care to know.

    • Kami

I honestly want to pistol-whip you right now. You’re terrible. And “joo”? Wow, illiterate too. Yes, Robert and Susan are JEWISH (not ‘jooish’ as you would say). So what? They’re both better people than you. So why don’t you do the world and us Robert Downey Jr fans a favor and go fuck yourself. Worthless peice of bigot shit.

  • Bob

    I know the answer….

    He has Jack-Ass Disease.

  • Molly

    Get better soon Robert!

  • Mary

A mysterious illness? I’m sorry. I forgot it’s so rare for people to get sick nowadays.

Showbizspy needs to get in touch with reality. They’ve lost it.

  • Bob

ok actor, did not care for chaplin

  • lisa

The fact he overcame addiction is a plus in my book. I’m happy to see him happy. As far as pro-creating, better he and his wife then Angelina & Brad.

  • Donna Hamilton

It is about time that Robert have some true happiness in is life. I am so happy that he truly loves his wife and wants to have children. He deserves all this. Like Robert Downey Jr. – I agree that the best actor he knows is himself. He is a good actor and deserves more recognition overcoming his drug habit and being a good actor. Robert
Downey Jr is not a brag heart. God Bless you Robert and this mystery disease disappears and keep making terrific movies. I love ya.

It so clear that some people never experienced addiction, speaking from my life, I kicked drugs 1988, got married and have two wonderfully kids. So yes addiction can stay for a lifetime that doesn’t mean your going to fail. Hell I was addicted to hard drugs. So let’s not get too holier than thou . But do you write someones life off because of there past. Or do you look towards the future.Oh by the way I have never wanted to go back to those days, and I like obsessing on my family! One of my kids is a honor role student. So much for thinking all previous addict’s obsessive think is all bad.

  • Erica

Robert Downey Jr. did NOT over-come addiction. He’s an addict and he’ll always been an addict. This behavior, not returning to set because of a cold is typical addict behavior. Being overly obsessed with his wife and having babies is addict behavior. Not saying addicts can’t get married and have kids but it’s how he over talks this. Normal people don’t do that. He better talk to his sponsor soon!

BTW, WTF is a joo? Stupid bigot!!

    • TGG

You don’t know Jack about addiction. Even if you are one, still doesn’t mean you know anything about it. Not going to set because you’re sick is normal behavior. Wanting to have kids and caring about your wife is selfless and recovered behavior. Judging others and what they “should” and “shouldn’t” do is addict behavior. And yes you can be recovered. Sorry if that makes you uncomfortable in your “addicts are sick forever” world.

Alternate spelling of Jew- Derived from Cartman on “South Park”

    • Kami

Wow, you’re arrogant. Robert worked incredibly hard to become clean and sober, just to be mocked by people like you. You obviously have problems. Robert deserves respect. The fact that you would accuse him of faking about being sick? Who do you think you are? The man could have the flu, but you dismiss it as a cocaine-induced stupor. That’s terrible. Susan and Jude keep him in check.

Robert is actually an amazing actor. Most people here may have been too young in the 1980′s and to recall his work in Chaplin or Less Than Zero. It was exemplary and he is a radically talented actor. imho, RDJ us still working below his artistic potential. This guy could still *easily* earn an Oscar. He is that good and held in extremely high regard by other actors.

It has been a pleasure to see him do better in life. I am all for his success and artistic growth.

  • Ramon

Am I the only guy who entertains the idea of a drug relapse when a famous celebrity with a serious history of drug and alcohol-related issues experiences a “mystery illness” out of the blue.

It may or may not be the latest strain of the flu, no one knows. But if I were RDJs publicist I’d being saying the same thing if he momentarily fell off the wagon, had to make a public appearance and needed to get quickly cleaned up.

  • Carmelle Jasenovic

I always liked him and felt very sad when he was battling addiction. I loved him in most of his movies and in particular in his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin.
I’m sorry he’s not feeling well and let’s hope he’ll be better before too long. Nine years sober and in a happy relationship, it warms the heart. Let’s keep positive thoughts going his way.

  • Mary

I don’t understand people. My sister-in-law got the flu last week, called off sick. No one thought any worse of her.

RDJ gets sick, calls off work, suddenly it’s a “mystery illness” or signs of a relapse.

  • Myrtle Beached Whale

The mystery illness is called relapse.

  • sammie

i totally agree with donna and melody!rob is the best ever and funniest ever!i hope he gets better soon!i hope he’ll be in more movies soon and another iron man too!ilu robert downey jr!

  • Ann

Robert is such a great actor, and I must say that I’m so proud of him for changing his life around!!!! You go Robert!!!! You deserve to be happy with a great life like everyone else!!!!!

  • Rhonda

Speaking as a former drinker and nicotine addict (yes, if you smoke, you’re an addict), I quit both cold turkey and turned my life around. Many said I couldn’t do it, many still say I haven’t done it. When I get sick and can’t make it to an event (I sing), they question it…it’s not very often that I do…but it is always in their minds that I’ve fallen off the wagon, or started old behaviors again.

God and I know the truth about how my life has turned out. My husband and my son know the truth about how my life has turned out. I am overly obsessesed with little things now that I never noticed when I was drinking and smoking, almost like how I felt when I was a kid. If this is abnormal behavior, I’ll take it! At the end of the day, I only care about how my behavior and selfishness affects my husband and my son. If they are happy with how I’ve turned out, that’s all I care about.

Fact is, Robert Downey Jr. knows where is life was, and where it’s going. Wherever he is at with it is between his child, his wife, God and himself. Regardless, I wish him the best. If he’s where he wants to be, I pray he stays there! If not, then I hope he gets there:) Honestly though…his words sound like a recovering addict. It is quite remarkable when you see the world as God intends everyone to see it. It’s quite beautiful.

Joo is a common word used by Al Pacino and several other Cuban’s in Scarface.

    “Joo know what?”
    “Joo don’t own me, mayn!”
“Joo wanna do business with me, mayn?”
