WILLOW Smith says she entered the music business because she wanted to be like her famous parents.
Willow — the daughter of superstars Will and Jada Pinkett Smith — has become an internet sensation with her debut single, Whip My Hair.
And the nine-year-old admits she decided to embark on a career in showbiz after seeing her parents perform. Will is a Grammy winner who got his start rapping; Jada has toured the country as part of a metal band.
“I would go on tour with them and watch them and I’d be like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s what I wanna do,’” Willow told the Associated Press.
“I wanted to make a difference now, (and) because I wanted to be big and famous like my mommy and daddy and help people,” she said.
Willow says her musical idols include Billy Idol — “his music is really tight,” she explains — and Lady GaGa.
“She’s really nice,” Willow said of GaGa. “She’s really awesome because she cares about everybody and she writes songs about herself and everybody.”
