HUGH Hefner is Kendra Wilkinson’s best friend.

The Playboy magnate stays in close contact with his ex-girlfriend — who has married NFL player Hank Baskett and had a son, ten-month-old, also called Hank since moving out of the Playboy Mansion in 2009 — and she is excited to be near him again after recently moving back to Los Angeles.

“I can tell you that Hef is my closest friend. I’m not just saying that. He makes sure he writes to us every chance. He’s always thinking about us, and that’s a real friend,” Kendra said.

“I want Hef to see how my life is, it’s just great. I’m just excited to catch up on things. Hef is so happy to see us and we’re so excited to see him.”

Kendra insists that her former lover is equally concerned about her husband’s welfare and is constantly checking in with them.

“Hef always says, ‘I’m thinking about you.’ He asks, ‘How are you guys doing? Are you doing OK?’ ” she said.

Meanwhile, the 84-year-old media mogul celebrated his second anniversary with girlfriend Crystal Harris yesterday.

The couple celebrated with a group of their friends and had a “really memorable” evening.

“Crystal & I are celebrating our Second Anniversary today,” he wrote on his Twitter page. “We met two years ago at a Mansion Halloween party.

“We’re home in bed after a really memorable Halloween weekend & a night of celebration with the Playmates. Happy Anniversary, Crystal. (sic)”
