SUSAN BOYLE INSISTS SHE ISN’T A MENTALIST!

Posted by Adam

Susan BoyleSUSAN Boyle thinks doctors misdiagnosed her when they wrote her off as a mentally ill toddler.

The Scottish singing sensation — who shot to fame after appearing on UK TV show Britain’s Got Talent — suffered minor brain damage after her mother was forced to have an emergency Cesarean section birth.

Doctors claimed she would grow up with emotional and learning difficulties, but Boyle is convinced their predictions did her more harm than good.

“Some people in the medical profession said to my mother when I was one years old, ‘Don’t expect too much of her’,” Boyle said.

“How can they foretell that at that young age? They can’t. Hyperactivity in the ’60s was considered a mental illness. It’s not; it’s Attention Deficit Disorder, they call it now.

“I think with myself, it was the wrong misrepresentation. My mum and dad knew it was, (doctors were) professionals and they tended to think that doctors were God and they knew everything, but they don’t know everything.”

Susan — who’s believed to have earned around $8m from her debut album — recently insisted she’s careful with her money

“I’ve only just learned how to go in a taxi, I don’t flash the cash,” she said.

“I’m always careful with money. I’m not saying I’m mean, but I’m always careful.

“I have an allowance, it’s about £300-500 a week because that’s plenty for me. It’s pocket money.”
