ANDY Warhol once advised Yoko Ono to dress in the style of Lady GaGa.

Speaking to New York Post gossip column Page Six, John Lennon‘s widow  says the pop art legend gave her some interesting fashion advice — years before GaGa even existed — which she turned down because she wanted to be taken seriously as an activist.

“Andy said, ‘Yoko, you should be doing like this and that.’ He was actually predicting something like Lady GaGa, you know, the costumes and all that,” Yoko dished.

“He said, ‘You should do that,’ but I said, ‘Well I’m an activist and I’m not going to do that.’ I was in a different mood then.”

GaGa — real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta — has previously revealed Warhol is/was one of her inspirations.

“I would never even think about it [lip-syncing]. The whole point to me is, if you’re gonna be number one, you better really be f***ing number one,” she said last year.

“If you’re gonna be on top, you better be able to do all those things, because it’s a real privilege to be able to make music everyday, and I get away with a lot.

“Andy Warhol says art is what you can get away with, and I get away with a lot with my music and my clothes, and I work really hard so I could truly be a real artist for all my fans.That’s really f***ed up when you lip-synch.”
